We are excited to welcome our newest class of clinical fellows!

Our 2023–2024 class includes 8 sports medicine fellows, 1 foot and ankle fellow, and 1 hip preservation and reconstruction fellow. These fellows will complete one year at in Vail, working alongside our attending faculty to learn from the best while completing labs, research projects and working with patients at The Steadman Clinic.

We can't wait to grow with our fellows this year! Here's to an amazing year of research and medicine! 🎉

Congrats to Andrea Shannon for becoming Howard Head's Hand Therapy Fellowship Coordinator!

CONGRATULATIONS to Andrea Shannon on her promotion to Hand Therapy Fellowship Coordinator.

Andrea will be overseeing our new Hand Therapy Fellowship. Andrea was instrumental in submitting our application for accreditation to the AOTA and I am also happy to report that we have been accepted into candidacy status. Our first hand therapy fellow will be starting in July 2022 alongside our SCS and OCS PT residents and Psychology fellow.


Andrea Shannon OTR/L, CHT, CMLDT, Hand Therapy Fellowship Coordinator
Andrea has been a member of the Howard Head Sports Medicine team for over 15 years. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1999 and her occupational therapy degree in 2004 from Indiana University. Andrea achieved her certification in hand therapy in 2010, joining a prestigious group of therapists with advanced credentials in the treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries. She has been instrumental in the growth of hand therapy on our Edwards campus. She has also attained her certification in manual lymph drainage and plays a role in cancer care. In addition to this, Andrea is our Compliance Coordinator and oversees billing/documentation compliance for the department and leads our documentation committee. Andrea thank you for all that you do for HHSM.
