During a routine physical therapy appointment, Jesse Horton, a PT with Howard Head Sports Medicine, recognized the signs of a potential heart attack and encouraged his patient to seek immediate medical care, ultimately saving their life. Great work, Jesse!

February may be Heart Health month, but it's always important to understand the signs and symptoms of a potential heart attack:

- Unusual shortness of breath
- Chest pain or tightness
- Lightheadedness/dizziness

Please seek immediate medical assistance if these symptoms are new, increase and especially if they are all experienced at once.

Thank you, and Copper Mountain Ski Patrol⛑️ for hosting SafetyFest 2026!

January is National Ski Area Association Safety Awareness Month, and we were proud to spend this past weekend educating the community and supporting safe skiing and riding on the mountain.

Copper’s annual SafetyFest brings together important safety education through free demonstrations, avalanche dog demos, toboggan races, and community partners.

Howard Head is proud to support events like Safetyfest, as they play key roles in injury prevention, awareness and keeping our mountain communities healthy and active throughout the season💪

A little more about Shauna:
Shauna grew up in Highlands Ranch, CO and attended the University of Wyoming, where she received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion in 2010. She was also a member of the division I swim team while at Wyoming. She earned her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from A.T. Still University in Arizona. Shauna works both in acute care and specializes in treating pediatric patients in the outpatient setting. She is certified in SOS feeding, Sensory Integration, infant massage and Kinesio Taping. Shauna enjoys swimming, nordic skiing, biking and running with her family.

That’s a wrap on our Internal Spine Course and
WHAT. A. WEEKEND!

Our team spent two full days diving into the latest on spinal loading, progressive rehab, surgical considerations and patient-centered care; all with the goal of leveling up↗️↗️ how we treat spine-related conditions.

The energy, hands-on learning, and collaboration were unmatched, thank you to all who attended.
