⚠️🚨🚫 Lowndes County Fire Rescue crews have responded to multiple grass fires this week as dry weather and worsening drought conditions continue to increase wildfire risk.
Outdoor burning remains temporarily restricted in the unincorporated areas of Lowndes County until further notice. This includes the burning of yard debris such as leaves, limbs, grass, and other vegetative materials. These restrictions are in place to help reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our residents, property, natural resources, and first responders. Even small fires can quickly spread under current dry conditions.
We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to keeping our community safe. We will notify the public as soon as conditions improve and the restriction is lifted. Thank you!
