💥Data consistently demonstrates that states that license and integrate midwives have better outcomes.
🗺️ displayed OBs and L&D units in the first map, in the newly released 2025 Report, showing only 36% of Georgia counties with L&D units.
💪🏽 We match it with our map showing around 75% of Georgia counties having births attended by unlicensed direct-entry midwives.
🧠When will we realize that licensing and integrating these midwives is best for Georgia? Direct-entry midwives deliver healthy mothers and healthy babies and are happy to help!
🤔 Imagine if the data from out-of-hospital births was considered, and even more quality care could be delivered to folks with access to care issues. Wouldn’t THAT be amazing? ☺️

Midwives are highly trained birth professionals who specialize in low-risk pregnancy and physiological birth. They provide hands-on support during labor, offer holistic prenatal care, and even handle emergencies.

In Georgia, families can legally choose home birth but cannot legally hire a midwife to attend them. 😔 This is why we’re fighting for midwife licensure in Georgia.
