Planning on ringing in the New Year with fireworks? We encourage you to leave the fireworks displays to the experts. If you do choose to use legal fireworks, here are some tips to stay safe:
🎆Never allow young children to handle fireworks
🎆Never use fireworks while impaired
🎆Wear protective eyewear
🎆Never hold lighted fireworks in your hands
🎆Never light them indoors
🎆Never point or throw fireworks at another person
🎆Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks
🎆Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water before discarding
🎆Keep a bucket of water nearby

To Our Southern Eye Center Patients and Friends

In November 1986, I opened a solo private practice in ophthalmology, now know as Southern Eye Center P.C. It has truly been a huge blessing in my life to have the privilege of providing comprehensive eyecare to many wonderful people for over 37 years. With the recent loss of Dr Lance Haluka due to cancer and my retirement for several reasons, Southern Eye Center will be officially closing on January 28,2024.

Until that date , Southern Eye Center will be open limited hours (9AM-3PM) Monday through Thursday for the purpose of selling the remaining eyeglass inventory at significantly reduced pricing or for ordering a supply of current contact prescriptions at present competitive pricing. Patients may purchase a back-up pair of their current prescription glasses or an updated exam (refraction only) for $25, which may be applied toward the cost of glasses purchased on the date of exam. Walk-ins are welcome to purchase eyeglasses and contact lenses. Appointments for refraction are required. Please call 229-247-2020.

South Georgia Eye Partners 229-244-2068 and Steven T. Greenhaw MD 229-245-7070 have graciously offered to see our patients as urgent cases (during normal business hours) until our patients can establish care with the eyecare provider of their choice. All emergency care should go to the nearest emergency room.

Again, I want to thank each of you from my heart for your kindness during these recent difficult days with the loss of Dr.Lance. He was an absolute joy to work with for the past 20+ years. Please continue to pray for his wife,Debbie, the Southern Eye Family and Lance’s family.

It would be remiss if I didn’t also praise our Lord for these precious years. Though we may never fully understand His Providence in the path that has occurred, we can alway depend on His Faithfulness as He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
