Last week, the City of Santa Clarita proclaimed the month of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, recognizing the importance of mental health education, support, and access to care throughout our community.
The city also recognized Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and our Behavioral Health Unit for its continued work in providing mental health services and support to patients and families in the Santa Clarita Valley.
We are proud of our Behavioral Health team and grateful for their dedication to our community.

May is Trauma Awareness Month — a time to recognize the importance of trauma prevention, education, and lifesaving emergency care.
Trauma can happen in an instant, but preparation, rapid response, and expert care can make all the difference. We are proud to support the dedicated physicians, nurses, first responders, and healthcare teams who work every day to care for patients when they need it most.
This month, we also encourage our community to help prevent injuries by driving safely, wearing seatbelts, using helmets, and staying aware both on and off the road. Together, we can help keep our community safe.

After years of leadership and service to the community, Marlee Lauffer, President of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation and Vice President of Marketing and Communications, has announced her retirement effective June 19.
During her 11 years at Henry Mayo, Lauffer led fundraising efforts for the hospital’s new patient tower, securing significant employee and physician contributions as well as generous community philanthropy totaling nearly $15 million.
