We want to take a moment to share something extraordinary - something that reminds us exactly why we do what we do at National Ramp.
This weekend, we had the honor of transforming the life of 13-year-old Lola Reslow from Macomb County. Lola lives with epilepsy and mobility challenges, and thanks to the generosity of National Ramp and our incredible partners, she now has a professionally installed wheelchair ramp that gives her safe, independent access to her home.
This story began with a single phone call. A woman named Lou believed in our mission - and believed we could help. And we did. We showed up, and we proved what it means when we say: We Care.
Lola’s father, Dennis, shared that this act of kindness “restored his faith in humanity.” After losing his wife to ALS last year, he’s been raising his children on his own. Our support arrived when it was needed most. To Lola’s family, this ramp wasn’t just a piece of equipment. It was a symbol of compassion, of resilience, of kindness.
We didn’t provide just a ramp. We became part of Lola’s story. We gave her Freedom Now. We’ll keep showing up, because our work has the power to change lives—and that’s something worth sharing.
