Mindful Foundations Therapy Group Amanda Carr MEd, LPC, NCC, CSC, RPT™ I received my B.S. from Missouri State University in Psychology, Biomedical Science and Criminal Justice. Louis.

I then received my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Missouri St. In addition I have completed a two year Advanced Psychoanalytic Program through The Psychoanalytic Institute in St. Louis, where I had the opportunity to study behavioral development in depth. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified School Counselor (K-8) and am currently working towards my Certification in Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) . I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, parents and families in the school and community mental health setting developing skills to support each person where they are. I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and am genuine in my approach to working with each person as an individual. I work from an Attachment Based lens and incorporate a variety of modalities to meet each person's needs including play and Theraplay based interventions, sand-tray, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I emphasize the brain/body connection and the development of skills necessary to regulate intentionally and mindfully. My primary areas of focus are:

As a caregiver, it's important to understand how essential it is to regulate our own nervous system when our kiddos are having a difficult time. How can we expect a child to regulate if we cannot do the same?
