Fairfax Drug lost a dear member of the drugstore family this week. Lavonne Williams passed away May 6th, 2025 after an extended illness. She worked at the drugstore more than 20 years and was much loved by everyone. Lavonne enjoyed helping people, was kind and compassionate to everyone she met. She loved to laugh and especially loved spending time with her two grandsons. Please keep her beloved family in your thoughts and prayers.

Fairfax Drug will be open this afternoon (Wednesday) until darkness approaches. If anyone needs to pick up medication and can’t wait until Thursday morning, please knock on the front door. We have very limited staff today due to hazardous road conditions. Fairfax Drug will resume normal business hours Thursday January 23rd.

Fairfax Drug will remain closed Wednesday January 22nd until road conditions improve. Currently the roads are deemed impassable. Stay safe and please to not attempt to drive until conditions improve.

Due to hazardous road conditions from the winter storm, Fairfax Drug will delay opening until 11:00AM on Wednesday January 22nd. The Alabama Highway Department has deemed all Chambers County roads impassable as of 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Please stay safe and do not attempt to drive unless absolutely necessary.

From the Fairfax Drug family, it’s with great sadness that we share news that our beloved Will Maples passed away today. Mr. Will, as he was fondly known, was the owner and pharmacist at Fairfax Drug for over 50 years. He was a friend to all and he will be greatly missed by everyone that met him. Please keep Gil, Lee and their families in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come. Arrangements will be made available by the Maples family. Mr. Will’s kind manner and positive influence will remain with us forever.
