There’s never an appropriate time to tell a patient with dementia to “pack your bags” and “get your affairs in order.”

😴 Sleeping 7-9 hours/night
🥗 Eating whole foods (leafy greens, berries, nuts). You probably shouldn’t have a diet coke every day if ya know what I’m sayin’

👀 A peek into my day

9:30pm-5:30am Sleep
5:30am-6am Workout
8am/8:30am Start work day
12pm-1pm LUNCH
4pm End work day
5pm Dinner

This is only my Monday schedule since I work just Tuesday and Wednesday mornings

Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m cut out for full-time work. I HATE packing my lunch. It’s mildly torturous. The only part of my day worse than making my lunch is the 2 seconds after you get out of the shower before you put your towel on... BRRR

This is truly SO painful and I know caregivers mean well.

I see it often in my private practice patients

💜 It feels sacrificial to take care of your loved one

💜 It feels all-consuming to take care of your loved one

💜 You may feel like you owe your loved one something

💜 Who will take care of your loved one if you don’t?

But if you don’t take care of yourself, will you even be around for your loved one with dementia?

Your challenge today is to do something for yourself.
👉 Watch your favorite T.V. show
👉 Take a nap
👉 Have some ice cream
👉 Get your nails done
