Moving your body has brain benefits too 💪☀️

The easiest non-aesthetic reasons to move your body (and I’ll limit myself to 3 here 😜)

➡️ The part of your brain responsible for verbal memory gets BIGGER AKA you get smarter
➡️ More oxygen is delivered to your brain, helping reduce disease
➡️ New neural connections are being made

Now tell me, why don’t you work out!? It literally reduces your risk of dementia (with obesity being a risk factor for dementia)

*I realize there are some legitimate and valid reasons why some may not be able to move their body, this is not intended for those people*

Lowering your risk of dementia has honestly never been so simple!

😮‍💨 Breathing
🚶‍♀️ Walking
🍽️ *actually* taking a lunch break

Chronic stress is a risk factor for dementia, unfortunately.

I used to think breathing was silly and ineffective, but I’ve learned how beneficial and practical breathing really is.

What’s one way to lower stress that you completely wrote off at first? I’m genuinely curious so I can add it to my list too 📝

There’s a 99% chance I’ll lose it if a provider tells you this.

I certainly won’t be referring anyone to them.

Talk about a red flag 🚩

There’s never an appropriate time to tell a patient with dementia to “pack your bags” and “get your affairs in order.”

Change my mind, I dare you to try ⬇️

CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP BABY 😜

✅ You can delay/prevent dementia by 45%

No, that’s not a typo
😴 Sleeping 7-9 hours/night
🥗 Eating whole foods (leafy greens, berries, nuts). You probably shouldn’t have a diet coke every day if ya know what I’m sayin’
🧘‍♀️ Relaxing
🍺 Not drinking excessively
🚬 Avoiding smoking
👂 Treating hearing loss
👀 Treating vision loss
