Congratulations to Angela Wehner, our Older Adult Grant Project Director, for being awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Duneland Chamber of Commerce earlier this week! Pastor Esta Rosario, of Chesterton United Methodist Church, presented the award for Angela’s ongoing efforts facilitating Wellness Initiative for Senior Education (WISE) classes throughout the community, along with her work at Porter-Starke Services and through the Hub Coalition Porter County earned her this year’s award. A person experiencing a mental health emergency, crisis, or episode may have thoughts or behaviors that interfere with their daily living or functioning. They need immediate and careful attention by trained mental health professionals.

At Porter-Starke Services, we provide a range of care and treatment designed specifically to help people experiencing a crisis, including our Crisis Center, Inpatient Care Center, and Mobile Crisis Team.

Are you covered by Medicaid? If so, beginning July 1, 2025, you will be required to go through the “eligibility determination” process each quarter of the year. This process must be completed to keep your insurance coverage. Even if your information has not changed, you may still be required to sign and return documentation sent to you from Medicaid/FSSA.
