Here’s me hugging a tree. Why?
I have expanded much of my training into bodywork for children and babies. I just finished up another fantastic seminar focusing on just children and babies under the age of 8. My instructor filled my brain with so much knowledge, helped tune my touch skills, and permission to continue to be curious with every child that walks through my door. Each child is individual and their needs will speak to me once my hands meet their body. I know this but in all my bodywork trainings (MFR, CFT, TMR, & CST), we are told to be GROUNDED.
During this three day course, I worked with a partner with great awareness and intuition. We closed out for the day and regrouped the next morning. She asked me how I felt from the day before. I explained myself. She proceeded to tell me that she had a few different symptoms, but the one thing that jumped out to me, was the fact that she took MY energy home with her. Before she even explained anything to her husband, he told her that she was a bit more hyper than normal. Well, sorry to send THAT home with her 🤪 But it made me think to myself that I need to work on this grounding stuff in order for my energy to be level for my kiddos when we work together. I’m pretty sure some parents don’t want their kids to be even more hyper 😜.
Okay, GROUNDED, what does that really mean and how do I get there? Of course there’s no one answer for everybody. So here’s me starting with just hugging a tree and learning my own skills to ground myself.
We know what we know when we know it! Continue learning 🧐😎
