We had another guest speaker come in for our Cultivating Curiosity Series. This time we had Lorelei from the Laszlo Mission League talk about her experience going to Papua New Guinea, continuing on her Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Shirley’s mission. She helps give the Hauna People resources including education, medical aid, and spiritual growth so they can continue to thrive. The residents had a great time learning about the country and Lorelei’s mission work!

It’s always a great time when volunteers come to the campus! Lauren is a student at Valparaiso University and comes to Avalon to volunteer her time! We have enjoyed having her help us with a butterfly leaf press painting, and she even showed her competitive side playing SkyJo with the residents! 🦋

Continuing with our Cultivating Curiosity series, we had our piano tuner, Adam Gratz, talk to us about fun piano topics like the origin of the piano and precision tuning. Did you know that the piano we have in our Assisted Living (also pictured below) was made in 1922 by the Grinnell Brothers in Detroit?
