Sometimes life just calls for a reset, and that doesn’t mean anything was lost. It just means something new is trying to begin. Taking things one step at a time and giving a little extra grace along the way

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, a time to move beyond awareness and embrace acceptance, understanding, and inclusion.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is not something to “fix”, it’s a different way of experiencing the world. Every individual has unique strengths, perspectives, and needs, and they deserve to be supported, respected, and celebrated.

A simple daily check in can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day. Take a moment to ask yourself how you’re really doing, mentally, emotionally, and physically, and give yourself the same care you’d offer a friend. Then reach out to the people in your life with a quick message or call to see how they’re doing too. It doesn’t have to be long or complicated, even a small “thinking of you” can remind someone they’re not alone. These small, consistent acts of connection help build stronger relationships and create a sense of support for everyone involved.

We are currently experiencing an issue with our phone system and are unable to receive calls or make calls at this time. Verizon is working on fixing the issue, but states it will not resolved until 8pm.

If you need to reach us in the meantime, please send us an email at admin@lpacounseling.com and we will respond as soon as we can.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore service. Thank you!

Sometimes we wait until everything feels certain before moving forward. But growth often starts with just one small step, even when the path isn’t fully clear. Trust yourself enough to begin.

Gentle reminder

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to say “no.”
You are allowed to take up space.

Healing isn’t a straight line, some days you’ll feel strong, other days you’ll just feel tired. Both are valid. Both are part of the journey.

Drink some water. Step outside for a minute. Text the friend. Take the nap. Celebrate the tiny wins.

Your mental health matters. You matter. And I’m really proud of you for still being here and still trying.

It’s our busy season at LPA, and call volume has picked up significantly.

We’re working hard to return every call as quickly as possible. Due to the high volume, not all calls are successfully coming through the phone lines.

If you need a call back, please leave a voicemail. Leaving a message ensures we have your contact information and can return your call in the order it was received.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through the increased demand.

We’re excited to share that Jessica Arce PMHNP-BC is now offering GeneSight testing at LPA Counseling!

Have you ever wondered which psychiatric medications might be the best fit for you? GeneSight is a simple genetic test that analyzes how your body may respond to certain mental health medications and helps reduce the guesswork that can sometimes come with treatment.

This personalized approach can:
• Provide insights into how you may metabolize specific medications
• Help reduce trial and error prescribing
• Support more informed, collaborative conversations about your treatment options

If you’re interested in learning whether GeneSight testing could benefit you, contact our office (219-252-2406) to schedule an appointment with Jessica.

We’re here to support you in finding the path that works best for you.
