In honor of 9/11, our Respite crew spent last night spreading kindness in the community. They visited the Crown Point Fire and Police Departments to deliver homemade cookies as a heartfelt thank you for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice shown by first responders every day. 🚒👮‍♂️🍪

We are grateful for their service and proud of our crew for honoring this day through appreciation and acts of kindness. 💙

For today’s DSP Week spotlight, we celebrate Melissa and her 12 years of service at OE!

For over a decade, Melissa has been an anchor in OE’s residential programs. She’s flexible, dependable, and always willing to train across sites, stepping in wherever she’s needed. Her willingness to pick up shifts and “save the day” countless times makes her a true key player on the team.

Continuing our DSP Week celebrations, today we’re recognizing Amy for her joyful spirit and the difference she’s already making.

In just four months, Amy has already made a tremendous impact. With her positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed, she’s become a reliable teammate and a comfort to those she supports. Always greeting clients with a smile, offering hugs in tough moments, and helping them stay engaged in activities, Amy’s joy shines through in everything she does.

As part of DSP Week, today we recognize Victoria South for her passion, dedication, and leadership at OE.

Victoria’s journey shows what happens when passion meets purpose. After volunteering at a camp for individuals with disabilities as a teen and working in manufacturing, she felt called back to this field. Since joining OE, she has been a strong advocate, showing compassion, empathy, and laughter to clients every day. Within just six months, her leadership and dedication led her to step into the role of Lead DSP.

Today is the start of Direct Support Professionals Week and we could not be more grateful for the work our DSP’s do each and every day to fulfill our mission. Throughout the week we will be recognizing several of our hardworking DSPs.

We’re excited to kick the week off with Tabitha “Tabby” Hawthorne for the incredible impact she makes at OE!

Tabby is a ball of positive energy and one of the first to offer a helping hand or encouraging pep talk. She takes time to know each client, treating them with patience and kindness, and she goes above and beyond to brighten the days of her coworkers. From gifting small tokens of kindness to volunteering as team note-taker, Tabby is genuine, consistent, and a true joy to work with.

A mighty team from Highstreet Insurance & Financial Services rolled up their sleeves on August 26 and made a huge impact on the landscape at OE Main in just two hours!

From the front patio to the middle and back courtyards, they completely transformed the spaces.
