I turned 30 this past weekend, and I’m feeling deeply grateful for the growth that got me here.

My 20s were full of learning… whether that be in school, clinic, patients, mentors, mistakes and breakthroughs. I learned how powerful acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be. I learned that I can persevere.

Finishing grad school, passing boards and starting my own practice has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve done. Every step on this journey reminds me why I’ve chosen this path.

Here’s to the next decade of learning, healing, and building something meaningful. 💛

I just recently tried out our Vibroacoustic table at Cypress Grove and I will be adding this into my self-care regimen from now on! 🤗

Vibroacoustic therapy uses low-frequency sound waves and gentle vibrations to stimulate the nervous system, relax muscles, and improve circulation on a deep cellular level. When paired with acupuncture, it can enhance treatment outcomes and help the body shift into a true parasympathetic healing state.

🔹 Supports chronic pain and tension
🔹 Regulates the nervous system and reduces stress
🔹 Improves sleep and emotional well-being
🔹 Enhances circulation and tissue healing
🔹 Deepens the effects of acupuncture

Think of vibroacoustic therapy as a somatic meditation for the body, while acupuncture provides targeted therapeutic input. Together, they create a powerful mind-body healing experience.

✨ Curious to experience vibroacoustic therapy?
Come in for a complimentary demo session, or add it to your next acupuncture treatment to deepen your results.

Your body isn’t broken.
It’s likely just tired of being in survival mode.

When stress is constant, the nervous system stays “on”, while the body is alert, tense, and reactive. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, poor sleep, hormonal imbalance, digestive issues, or feeling disconnected from your body.

Acupuncture works by gently signaling safety to the nervous system, helping shift from fight or flight into rest and repair. This is where healing actually happens.

You don’t have to push harder to feel better. Sometimes the most supportive thing is allowing your body to rest.

✨If you’re curious about how acupuncture supports nervous system regulation, I’m happy to answer questions.

Tonight I had the honor of speaking at a Women’s Cancer Support Group at Brandon Hospital, where I was able to demonstrate how acupuncture can be used as a supportive treatment for cancer patients.

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with patients and hear their stories. Thank you to Melissa for inviting me and orchestrating these meetings.

The work happens one patient at time 🤗

Flashback to two weeks ago when we held a small get together of women to celebrate Samhain and the harvest. ✨🌾🌙

Should we do more of these gatherings?

Food to support fertility is often underplayed. When you’re planning to conceive nutrition and micronutrients are extremely important. However, information is often overwhelming when navigating an already difficult landscape.

Here’s just 3 tips backed by both western medical research and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory that can help prepare your body for conception, boost egg quality or regulate hormones. ✨

1. DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST. 🍳
Even if you are not hungry, it is incredibly important to support healthy metabolism, insulin and glucose levels. Try protein rich foods like eggs or bone broth.

2. FAT IS YOUR FRIEND. 🥩
Yes, populations that consume a higher ratio of fat in their diets have less rates of infertility and miscarriage. In addition, TCM adamantly backs a diet higher in animal fats when trying to conceive, due to how nourishing the fats are for the body. If you find yourself avoiding higher fat meats, give them a try!

3. INCORPORATE MORE WARMING FOODS. 🍲
In TCM cold foods are not optimal for nourishing the body and womb for conception. Broths, soups, congee and hot teas are a few examples of how you can incorporate warming foods into your diet. All of these can be had for breakfast lunch or dinner. Try to have fun with them!

All of this information is applicable to women at any point in their journey, not only in those trying to conceive.

As a an acupuncturist one of the greatest tools at our disposal is Chinese herbal medicine. 🌿

While acupuncture works to unblock stagnation and move stuck energy, herbal medicine can help to deeply nourish blood, yin, yang and tonify Qi. This allows you to address the root of your pattern at home and build upon your acupuncture treatments.

The power of herbal medicine should not be taken lightly, so be sure to always work with an herbalist to choose the right herbs for you. 💫
