I was asked, “Why should you celebrate Juneteenth? You’re white.” The answer is so simple: It benefits me too. It took almost 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation to be upheld in ALL of our USA states. Some of the greatest people in my life, friends and/or colleagues, have been of African decent. Without the final abolishing of what was, I, along with millions (when you look at generations), would never have been afforded the blessings of these relationships…at least openly. So, yes, I do celebrate Juneteenth with all Americans that celebrate our history. Yes, sometimes that history was messy, as with all nations, but we are still here celebrating unity, independence, and freedom! THAT is what this country was built upon, so to EVERY Red, White, and Blue American out there today… HAPPY JUNETEENTH! 🇺🇸

Note: every time you get upset with someone new, doesn’t mean he or she is necessarily a narcissistic, but if you find you get the same negative feelings coming from the same individual, it may be time to leave or at least talk to someone about it. Once Upon a Time, I wrote a book (Living and Inspired Life) for the guidance and inspiration of others….

Although, I can say with certainty that most of those, if not all, of those writings were divinely inspired, I attribute the other part of that mindset and inspiration to my maternal upbringing and my family lineage to Snowflake Spiritualist Church & Camp.

When I left to drive back home today from Northern Michigan, my mother sent these words to all of us.

For those of you that are looking for simply something, here are the words from which I have been blessed:

A friend from church this morning shared this thought-

"We’re Easter people living in a Good Friday world”.
My thoughts went to a picture I have of my Mom & Dad gazing skyward and I immediately thought “my parents didn’t live in a Good Friday world”. They didn’t deny the realities of this world. They didn’t deny that Good Friday moments occur, but they chose to create and live in an Easter world. It’s that world—that reality—that afforded them the ability to live a life of contentment, happiness, peace, and love. I was blessed with witnessing and growing up in that world.
However, my adult led me away from that without my even realizing it was happening. It was a lot of years later before I realized what a great life I had as young kid and came to the realization as to how that was possible. It was possible because of the reality of Easter and my Mom & Dad’s knowledge and acceptance (faith) of that reality.
We all have that choice. We can choose to live in a Good Friday world, or we can choose to live in the reality of Easter and build a world around it. My Mom & Dad made the choice to ‘Be Still And Know’. They didn’t question Easter or spend countless hours trying to understand how it could be possible through our earthly knowledge. They just knew and lived accordingly.
My hope this Easter is that we can all ‘Be Still And Know’ and live our lives in an Easter world. I hope we all find the way to do our part to truly make the entire world an ‘Easter World’.
I can tell you that from my witnessing the lives my parents lived, and the lives myself and my brothers and sisters lived as kids, it’s a great world to live in.
