The Queen Anne Club hosts an Angel Tree every year. We are always happy to help. We still have 8 Angels waiting to be picked. Stop by and help a child for Christmas.

Our Food Drive was an overwhelming success. Our community rallied to help those in the county in need by supplying plenty of food. Our Food Distribution starts at 8 on Saturday. We anticipate a larger than normal crowd so please be patient. All the workers are volunteers and are doing their best. We couldn’t do this without their help.

Part 2: Van Buren R2…

Van Buren school district came in with a nice total of 3257 items. They even supported us by charging canned goods for the game last night.
Great job by everybody.

In case you are wondering, here are the totals we have. Locally, in Van Buren businesses and here at the Nutrition Center, we collected 2752 items. Van Buren School 3257 and East Carter Schools 7154 items. A total of 13,163 items. Even the main Food Bank out of Sikeston was impressed.

A Big THANK YOU to everybody who helped and donated. We can help quite a few with all this.

This is a long one, so I am spreading the info between today and Friday. As you know, with the SNAP benefits cut off this month, we have a lot of people affected and in need. We put out a call to the community for help in feeding them. Carter County is AWESOME!!!!

We had a lot of the businesses help with donation boxes. We were able to collect a lot. BUT then, the two school districts got involved. It ended up being a competition between Van Buren R1 and East Carter R2 school districts. Each school offered fun incentives to the kids. The true winners though are the Food Pantry and alll the people we will be able to help this Saturday at our FOOD DISTRIBUTION. It starts at 8 am. We may not have enough boxes so bring some bags, boxes, totes to put some in. Also, please be sure your vehicle is cleaned out and has room.

NOW... PART 1.... East Carter R2

We went Wednesday to pick up their donations of food. I had talked to them on Tuesday early afternoon. They had a little over 4000. When we went to pick up the food, they had a donation of 7154. I was totally blown away. So, here are some photos of the food, the students who loaded it all up and the 2 winning classes.
Thank you. East Carter for such an awesome donation.

A HUGE shout out to Mrs. Eddington’s 2nd grade class for being the single homeroom class to collect the MOST items, and the senior class of 2026 for collecting the most for one grade level!

We have been blessed with a lot of generosity for the food drive. We will be having our food distribution this Saturday starting at 8. So if you want to help, we need it by Wednesday so we have time to prep everything. Thank you so much.
