Arvest Donates Communication Boards to Area Schools
Initiative highlights the importance of supporting students during Autism Acceptance Month.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (April 24, 2026) – April is National Autism Acceptance Month, and several school playgrounds in the Fort Smith and River Valley area are now better equipped to support limited and nonverbal students thanks to Arvest Bank’s recent donation of communication boards to 18 schools.

These communication boards create more inclusive and accessible communication in school settings. With visual symbols and clear layouts, the boards allow students to express their needs, feelings and ideas more easily and confidently by simply pointing to or touching the pictures that match their message.

The boards were distributed to the following schools across the region:

o Crawford Elementary in Russellville
o Center Valley Elementary in Russellville
o Dwight Elementary in Russellville
o Friendship Community Care in Russellville
o Oakland Heights Elementary in Russellville
o Sequoyah Elementary in Russellville

o Atkins Elementary

We’re proud to support these schools and the families they serve, especially during National Autism Acceptance Month.”

Arvest also offers an Autism Acceptance debit card design that allows customers to show their support for autism awareness and acceptance year-round.

Go Baby Go 2026!

The Go Baby Go program is a national initiative that focuses on research, design, and outreach efforts within local communities. The program provides modified ride-on cars to young children who have limited mobility. The ACHE PT students custom-designed and modified ride-on cars for local children in need. One of our clients was selected for this program and LOVES his new set of wheels 😎
