Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc., a contract agency of the Tri-County Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board, assists residents of Van Wert, Mercer and Paulding counties and is dedicated to providing appropriate mental health, prevention, alcohol and drug treatment, and recovery services in a person-centered environment.
Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community behavioral health agency and has been serving the Van Wert community since 1976. In 1996, the current facility in Van Wert was built and was operating as The Stepping Stones Center, Inc.
In 2001 The Stepping Stones Center, Inc. and Fountainview Center merged mental health and substance abuse services and formed Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. In 2007, Westwood Behavioral Health Center began providing behavioral health services at our Paulding, OH office location and in 2011 added substance abuse services.
In 2015 Westwood Behavioral Health Center began providing community behavioral health services in our Delphos, OH office location. Westwood, a CARF accredited Center since 2008, is a contract provider for the Tri County ADAMHS Board serving Van Wert, Paulding and Mercer Counties.
PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY FOR CARE
Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is dedicated to providing appropriate mental health, prevention, alcohol & drug treatment and recovery services in the Van Wert and Paulding Counties and surrounding areas in a person centered environment. Mental Health and Alcohol & Drug disorders often result in marital, financial, legal, social, psychological, emotional and biological problems. The Board and staff believe that mental illness requires an integrated approach to assist clients in maximizing their functioning, and that addictions are preventable and treatable with appropriate services and supports systems. Services are provided through prevention, intervention, C/I services, counseling (including group, individual, family and gender specific), case management, pharmacotherapy, and referrals to appropriate levels of care not available at the Center.
