Family Health Care would like to dedicate the month of October to raise awareness about breast cancer; we'd like to let it serve as a reminder to schedule an appointment through our Community Health Center and get checked out.

Family Health Care of Northwest Ohio is a participating provider of the Northwest Ohio Breast and Cervical Cancer Project. The project is a statewide, high-quality breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic program offered at NO COST to eligible women in Ohio.

The services include Pelvic exams, Pap tests, Clinical breast exams, Mammograms, Diagnostic testing, including biopsy and ultrasound if needed.

Who can receive services:
• Live in a household with income less than 300% of the poverty level
• Have no insurance
• Have insurance with a high out of pocket expense
• 21 years of age or older for Pap tests
• 21 years of age or older for diagnostic breast services
• 21-39 years old in need of a screening mammogram and are considered high risk
• 40 years of age or older for screening mammograms

Enroll by calling 419-335-3907. Enrollment can be made over the phone while at the office of Family Health Care of Northwest Ohio the same day as your appointment!

Ohio CHC leaders met with Alex Alarcon from Congressman Bob Latta’s office during the September National Fly-In to highlight how CHCs keep care local and accessible. Peggy Anderson (CEO, Third Street Family Health Services), Joe Palmucci (Erie County Health Department/Erie County Community Health Center), Ben Kosewski (CEO, Lorain County Health & Dentistry), Jennifer Smith (Family Health Care of Northwest Ohio, Inc.), and Lindsay Ruivivar (CEO, Wood County Community Health Center) called for sustained funding, workforce support, and preserving telehealth flexibilities so that we may continue to serve communities across northwest Ohio.
