My rides this weekend were short, but they still helped me unwind. On Friday, I had the opportunity to join a motorcycle es**rt for one of my brother’s daughters as she headed to her school dance. Then on Sunday, Gunny and I helped out at a trunk-or-treat event at the Vancouver mall, where a biker organization let kids sit on their motorcycles and take photos. Seeing their smiles made my day.

A few things have happened since my last post:

1. Got my ride for the hero patch
2. Did my 300 miles in Oct to get HD digital coin
3. Next, I put the skull shift linkage on Gunny.
4. Meanwhile, Candy has not been ridden enough, so I decided to start riding her more often.

With that being said, I put 103 miles on her today.

On Friday, I turned in my mileage to get the 5K milestone for the 2025 'Let's Ride for Heroes.' That check-in also counted for the October milestone, but since I was so focused on reaching over 5K on Gunny and getting the hat, I forgot about the October milestone reading. Now I have until the 31st to get another reading and pick up my patch.

After that check-in, I rode 270 miles toward the 300 miles needed for the Harley digital coin.

On Saturday, I went ax-throwing with Teresa, her coworkers, and their spouses. Afterward, we played a few games: co****le, Tetris, and Connect 4. I wrapped up the night by planning Sunday's ride to the Ivy Bear Pizzeria & BnB. The ride will be about 100 miles and should take around two to two and a half hours. We'll meet at 9, with kickstands up around 9:15. Today's ride was a 177-mile loop that took about 3.5 hours.

Since beginning my weekend rides on September 12, 2025, I’ve logged 409.7 miles. Friday was the Klickitat Loop, and today was the BACA Rug Rat Poker Run. The weather may prevent riding tomorrow. After today’s ride, I noticed Gunny is nearly due for her 5K service at 4,966 miles, so I'll call Paradise Harley Davidson for an appointment this week.

Growing up, I always knew I wanted a Harley. Ten years ago, I finally bought my first Harley. In the last ten years, I’ve bought three more. I’m starting to think I might have a Harley addiction. When I was younger, I experienced hardship at home. What stayed with me all this time was that there were adults willing to show children who had been abused that they were loved and cared for. This year, I decided it was time to bring two of my passions together.

Join us this Saturday, 9/13/25, for BACA's rug rat poker run! Don’t miss this chance to support a great cause—look up the Mount Hood Chapter of BACA for more details.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any riding in this weekend due to my family obligations, and that's okay. Saturday, we went up to my in-laws after grabbing some items for them from Costco and what I hear to be the best corn from a farm in Woodland. Sunday started with breakfast at my mom's, followed by a trip to the theater. We saw & Juliet, it was better than I thought it would be. This was a great weekend since I got to see both sides of my family.
