This family is so special to us! We had the honor of attending both of her home births! Her second was a precipitous birth, midwife Brittany walking in just in time to get her into the tub, and then to witness this strong mama catch her own baby! Thanks for waiting for us to arrive, so we could witness your new little one arrive 🦋

Family centered care is what it’s all about! Birth perspective can be so funny sometimes, it’s so much fun looking back at these photos to see everyone’s faces captured in a single moment. A very prepared big brother protectively watching over his laboring mama. A proud papa waiting to meet his sweet baby girl while supporting his wife. Adoring grandmas and midwives, and then there’s the most important person in the room, the laboring mama, going through ALL of the emotions 🦋

Let’s hear it for the doulas out there! As homebirth midwives, we often get asked if we encourage doulas, and the answer is yes! Midwives offer so much support to our mamas, but in a different role than a doula is available to you, we appreciate their hard work so much 🦋

Sometimes babies want to be born in the water, and sometimes they don’t! This little guy decided he was going to be a land baby! And there’s nothing wrong with that! Having flexibility in your birth plan is one of the most recommended option for your birth. Sometimes it goes exactly as you picture it, and sometimes it can look very different 🦋
