About TMS Therapy

NeuroStar Advanced Therapy® uses a patented iron core coil technology to produce a highly focused MRI-strength pulsed magnetic field that, when directed to the left prefrontal cortex, balances the activity in the emotional centers of the brain which are underactive in patients with mood symptoms. The activity on areas of the brain affecting mood are normalized with the end result of patients feeling relief from their mood symptoms without the side effects of medications. NeuroStar Advanced Therapy is prescribed for 4-6 weeks, 5 days a week. Each treatment lasts between 19 and 37 minutes with patients awake and alert and able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
