🌟 Honoring a Hero 🌟

Law enforcement heroes aren’t always in uniform. Sometimes, they’re the quiet professionals working behind the scenes—like Allison Crider, whose quick thinking and compassion recently saved a life.

During our recent 2024 Awards Ceremony, we proudly presented Allison (who works in our Civil Unit) with the Life-Saving Award for her actions during a critical phone call.

Allison took a call from a tenant who had received an eviction notice. The tenant, in an emotional crisis, was struggling with the situation. As the call progressed, the tenant revealed that she suffered from a rare heart condition that could lead to life-threatening seizures. Allison worked diligently to de-escalate the situation, offering calm and reassurance, but things rapidly worsened as the tenant’s breathing and speech began to change.

Allison, recognizing the medical emergency, stayed calm and called 911. She remained on the line for nearly 30 minutes, continuously reassuring the tenant that help was on the way, even though there were long stretches of silence as the tenant became unresponsive. When medics arrived and gained entry to the residence, one of them picked up the phone and, after a brief exchange, advised Allison that they were transporting the tenant to the hospital.

Days later, the tenant personally visited CCSO to thank Allison, expressing that without her quick actions, she didn’t know what might have happened. She shared her gratitude, knowing that Allison’s unwavering support had saved her life.

Please join us in celebrating Allison’s dedication and compassion—a true hero in our Support Branch! 👏💙
