Weight-bearing exercise is king 👑 for building bone strength. But every king needs a queen.

Here are 3 nutrients I always recommend to support bone density, especially for women recovering after cancer:

🦴 Calcium – Your bones literally depend on it. But it’s about absorption, not just intake.
☀️ Vitamin D – Without it, calcium doesn’t get where it needs to go (and sometimes ends up where it shouldn’t... like your arteries).
🌿 Boron – The underrated MVP. Helps prevent bone loss and even supports estrogen metabolism.

If you’re lifting weights but still losing bone mass or you’ve had treatment that has impacted your hormones, these nutrients should be part of your team. Supporting your bones isn’t just about preventing fractures, it’s about protecting your strength, mobility, and confidence long-term.

✨ Follow for more hormone and bone support for women recovering after cancer.

**This is not medical advice and supplementation should always be discussed with your physician**

For years, women were told not to lift weights if they’d had lymph nodes removed or were at risk for lymphedema.

But the research? It tells a different story.

Many studies have found that progressive, guided strength training did NOT increase the risk of lymphedema. In some cases, it actually improved symptoms and function.

Here’s why movement matters:
✨ Improves circulation and lymphatic flow
✨ Builds lean muscle, which supports recovery and energy
✨ Helps women feel strong, not scared of their own bodies (which is all too common after going through something as scary as a cancer diagnosis)

The key is doing it intentionally:
✅ With proper form
✅ At the right pace
✅ With guidance from someone who understands post-cancer physiology

Strength training can be part of your healing and should not be something to fear.

✉️ Know someone navigating this fear?
Send or share this post with them.
You might be the reason they feel brave enough to start moving again.

And if you want more like this, follow for more education and support that helps you feel informed not overwhelmed.

***this is not medical advice and you should seek advice from your physician before beginning an exercise regimen.

Cortisol gets labeled as “the stress hormone.”
That’s true, but it’s only part of the story.

The real truth?
When cortisol is out of balance, it can disrupt your entire endocrine system.

After cancer treatment, your body has likely been through months or even years of chronic stress. That can leave cortisol levels elevated, flattened, or totally dysregulated. And those effects trickle down into everything.

Here’s what cortisol dysregulation can impact:
🧠 Your sleep (especially early waking or trouble falling asleep)
🍽️ Your blood sugar (hello, 3pm crashes or cravings)
🌡️ Your thyroid (slows it down, makes you foggy and fatigued)
🧬 Your s*x hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone all get thrown off. If you’re on endocrine therapy, that’s a whole other conversation.)
💪 Your muscle recovery and energy production

Cortisol is like the ringleader of a hormone circus you never agreed to join.

So if you’ve been trying to balance your hormones and rebuild your energy but nothing’s working?

It might be time to look at cortisol first.

💛 Comment “energy” if you want support that looks at the whole picture.
