Deep Blue Rub is a Staple for my practice and for my family on the go!
What Deep Blue Rub is
A rich topical cream (rub) made with a blend of essential oils and natural plant extracts.
Key botanical ingredients: Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Blue Tansy, German Chamomile (Matricaria), Helichrysum, Ylang Ylang, Osmanthus, plus emollients to moisturize the skin.
Claimed / Practical Benefits
Cooling & warming sensations
The rub provides both cooling and warming effects to “problem areas” (muscles, joints) — often helpful in relieving discomfort.
Relief for sore/tight muscles & joints
Many people use it after exercise, heavy physical work, or when they've been inactive and feel stiffness (e.g. from sitting long periods) — shoulders, neck, lower back, legs, etc.
Soothing / comforting effect
The blend of essential oils is intended to provide comfort via both scent and the physical sensation (cool/heat), helping with recovery & relaxation.
Skin moisturization
The base includes emollients so it doesn’t leave the skin too dry or overly greasy. It’s intended to leave skin “soft, non‑greasy” after use.
Use in massage / post‑workout scenarios
Popular with massage therapists and sports practitioners; people massage it into muscles after workouts for relief.
Convenience for active lifestyles
Good for gym bags, travel, or keeping on hand for when physical discomfort arises.
Limitations / Caveats
Skin sensitivity: Because it contains strong essential oils (wintergreen, camphor, etc.), some people may have irritation, rash, or burning. It’s for external use only.
Avoid damaged skin: Not to be used on wounds or broken skin.
Avoid tight bandaging or heat pads after use: These could increase absorption or cause discomfort / irritation.
Keep away from eyes / mucous membranes: The essential oils and menthol/camphor can irritate sensitive areas.
Do not ingest: Some ingredients (e.g. wintergreen) can be toxic if swallowed.
