Happy New Year, Everyone!

I’m really looking forward to this year! 2025 was a year of letting go and wrapping things up and resolving and releasing what no longer works. Time to rebuild, revitalize, and renew. When we become masters of self-care and the art of changing ourselves first, we can spend our precious energy & attention on the creative problems of building a peaceful society together.

A few special opportunities in January to work with me in a group setting or one-one-one:

1. HEALTHY SPINE, HEALTHY LIFE CLASS SERIES:
New rotating Class Series Tuesdays 9:15am (75 minutes) in downtown Vancouver above Bauman Chiropractic. Starts Tuesday, January 13th. We’re capping the class at 8 people. DM me to reserve your spot!

2. ANATOMY OF A BACKWARD BEND in St Johns Portland Sunday January 18th at 11:30am (90 minutes). DM me for information on how to sign up or reach out to owner Adrianna at www.mijahotyoga.com

3. Shout-out to my awesome clients. I love these relationships. I love the work I do in a one-on-one setting. In addition to my yoga clients, I’m now taking clients in a personal training setting. In this case, we will together build a tailored training program for you that usually includes strength and flexibility training. I have space for 3-4 more weekly clients. Please reach for more information and I’m happy to meet with you in person so we can do an assessment and feel out the “fit.” Invest in your best life and become a master of self-care. Cultivating a life condition brimming with vitality is essential for living your best life.

See you soon! Can’t wait to connect and reconnect. Be on the lookout for more offerings this year. It’s going to be a good one.

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

I know y’all are busy doing the holiday hustle so I’m just planting some seeds in your mind’s eye for getting your New Year off to a great start 😘

Class Series kicks off TUESDAYS STARTING JANUARY 13th at 9:15am in downtown Vancouver (above Bauman Chiropractic). If you or someone you love wants or needs to get fit & healthy—this 7 class series is for you. Folks with pre-existing conditions or injuries are welcome. The content offers technique-driven training so you can understand how to navigate for high standards in self-care. Therapeutic yoga practice is the stuff. Sky is the limit, but starting where you’re actually at is the master key for opening the way for yourself.

Although this class series is for beginners and patients of medical providers, please take note if you are a younger or new yoga or fitness instructor. If you are interested joining my continuing education program for Yoga & Healthcare—this would be a great opportunity to see the kind of content you’d be learning to facilitate. You’d get to see what I do while feeling into the kind of content for building a solid private yoga business of your own or to offer specialized workshops at your local yoga studios or wellness centers. I offer biomechanics-based techniques to enable others to plug into the therapeutic nature of systematic movement practice.

I have so much passion, enthusiasm, & knowledge to share. I have a lot of heart for educational reform and tailoring wellness education to the needs and goals of the person in front of me. Come on and learn the ropes from me and check out Pacha Collective Studio! It’s a gorgeous space in a great location.

DM me or email me at allie@allieyoga.com and we’ll get you all signed up!

Hi Everyone! Checking in with you all. Holy cow, the past few months have been hitting the pavement, creative process at work, navigating the changing times and working to be the best version of myself in a consciousness climate that is…whoa momma…yeah, it’s a little intense these days out here in the Wild West.

I don’t know that I’ve ever felt more challenged in the sweetest, toughest, and grittiest of ways but the feeling that’s growing inside me is one of the deepest reverence for this gift of Life. With all the imperfection, I can’t help but continue to come back around to total awe in the perfection of its design. I know there people out there really struggling right now. I’m praying for folks’ hearts to open and for healing on every level so we can come together here on the ground level to have good conversations and really unite. To see our communities reach new heights in our regard and care for the people around us is on my heart —and I’m moving forward in my daily life to contribute in the ways I can to see to it that the changes are realized in my lifetime. I really don’t know a better way to spend my days.

New Project Rolling Out Soon. If you’re a yoga teacher in the area or if this message truly resonates with your heart, I’m interested in connecting with you. Please reach out, even just to say hello 💜

I am in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania today.

Semifinals went well at the National Yoga Competition sponsored by . I am ranked 5th coming out of semifinals. Women’s Finals 35-49 yrs will be around 3pm on the USA Yoga YouTube channel.

I am a big proponent of yoga competition. The Latin root of the word “competition” is “competer,” which means— “To strive for a common goal together.”

Isn’t that great? Undistorted, the nature of competition lies in its underlying purpose—WINNING TOGETHER. That was the original purpose of competition. Man, did humans get in there and screw that one up somewhere along the way… but I think maybe we will make a comeback. I’m hopeful. And hope is an important thing to keep alive these days.

The actual outcome (of any goal) is much less significant than what we learn along the way. This is something one could only know by doing the thing.

I really appreciate and all my competitor friends—it takes guts, heart, a willingness to be vulnerable to get up there. There’s really nowhere to hide when you’re balancing on one leg in a leotard, on a stage & being judged on your every move. It’s a mental-physical-physiological challenge that requires a leap of faith & the willingness to just go for it. And the best part is, we win in this mainly just by showing up and doing our best. The real treasure chest is the storehouse of benefits we accrue as a result of our dedicated daily practice. Having a signpost like this is so good— moving forward with concrete goals is an important part of individual progress. Thank you again to USA Yoga for being an awesome container for our development. What a wonderful opportunity! 🙌🪷🧘‍♀️

SATURDAY CLASSES IN VANCOUVER, WA—

A few shots and video clips from both beginner and advanced class this morning! In the Beginner Class, we run through the entire Bikram Yoga series from start to finish. I make sure to take time out to break down important techniques so the participants understand what they’re doing. It’s important to enable folks to trust the process, especially if they’re just getting into movement practice or dealing with chronic pain of some kind.

I included a little video of a soapbox moment I had in advanced class..I mean it! Sometimes people hold themselves back because they see somebody doing a posture that looks unattainable. Indeed, the people who struggle the most tend to become the strongest practitioners with the most capacity to teach others on the other side of the struggle—as long as they just keep showing up & don’t give up.

It is very important to me that the people who come to class know I’m on your side, I am your friend, I believe in you, I’m invested in your best life, and I want to walk the road to greater levels of health and wellbeing together.

Come to Beginner class if you’re new to this! 8am at the Aero Club in Vancouver, WA. My teacher buddies or the experienced yoga or movement practitioners of different styles & lineages—you’re welcome to come to Advanced Class at 9:45am. Or if you have the itch, come to both classes! Yoga is a safe and effective way to move energy and information to feel better on every level. You can do a whole lot of yoga if you want to, and you feel good after the fact.

Moving & learning with a community of folks with growth mindset and wellness on the brain?! What a good way to kickstart your weekend. You deserve it. DM me for a link to register for one of the Saturday classes!

8-9:30am— Beginner Class
9:45am-11:45am-Advanced Class

(We will meet next on Saturday August 9th—no class next Saturday, August 2nd as I will be out of town.)

Allie Yoga is at Kids Day America in Vancouver, WA! Kids Day America is an annual kids’ Health & Safety event. This year it was sponsored by Dr. Kathy Thomas at Healing Chiropractic. I did a “BEE 🐝 Your Own Healer” theme. Bubbles from joined us for a short yoga session! I could barely make it through Hands-to-Feet Pose, I was laughing so hard 🤩

I’ve been building something for awhile that I am now hoping to share with my friends & peers. I wrote & copyrighted a training manual for Yoga Teachers, Clinicians, & their assistants a few years ago.

5 years ago (at the beginning of the pandemic), I began to see a real need to team up with medical providers to support people in their efforts to take greater responsibility for their health& wellbeing.

My educational system is comprised of the best technical and conceptual gems I’ve accrued from countless hours of practicing/teaching/ training in yoga and functional movement for last nearly two decades.

I loved teaching yoga from the beginning. My original sense of purpose & the undercurrent of my dream for contributing to bettering society was to help ANYBODY who walked into the yoga studio, regardless of age, medical condition, and fitness level. I knew I needed to learn from others, over time, to get there. I’m grateful I focused on slowly building over time and staying the course. Coming into one’s own takes time.

I wrote it after my last long stint in India in 2017-2018. I created a curriculum for myself based on “filling the gaps” in my understanding and bank of knowledge. I am still a student & also I am at a point where it’s now appropriate to share what I have.

The system is comprised of universal principles of biomechanics & basic concepts that are crucial for laying the groundwork for a successful, effective, sustainable yoga practice.

We’ll cover 3 of the principles in a workshop on Saturday May 17th at Mija Hot Yoga in St. John’s, Portland:

1) Co-activation Around Joint Complex for Joint Health

2) Engaging your Upper Trunk for Stability Training in Your Yoga Practice

3) Anatomy of the Abdomen: A true game changer for me—practical techniques & application for the different abdominal muscles in your postures.

I chose the shot of Standing Head to Knee because it was always so hard for me. I’ll show you how to apply all 3 principles so you can also develop your stability, flexibility & strength.

~YOGA STUDIO OWNERS & MEDICAL PROVIDERS~

Are you interested in hosting a Functional Movement Workshop Series for Beginning Yoga Students at your studio or clinic?

Sharon(in the video testimonial) just retired and is now developing a consistent yoga practice and I will tell you what…

Holy Transformation, Batman ✨🪷🤩

She’s now moving in a way that speaks of a human being truly trusting the process. She’s moving her hips, side body is opening, backbend is improving remarkably, she’s centered and practicing consistently with focus, faith & resolve. It’s so cool to watch her go.

Slide #2 is a bit of marketing material about the therapeutic benefits you can expect with regular practice and a little bit about my background.

Next workshop is scheduled for May 17th for local people who want to check it out.

We will be covering:

1) Joint Stabilization,
2) Anatomy of the Abdomen, and
3) Upper Trunk Stabilization—very helpful for the one-leg balancing postures.

These workshops are equally good for regular yoga practitioners advancing their practice, and for those who mainly need the therapeutic benefits ongoing for general wellness, post-op & injury recovery.

Reach out if you’d like to book this workshop at your own studio or clinic!

I’m back in the Vancouver and Portland area and it feels so good! I’m excited to team up with in St. John’s for this special event. I designed this workshop for Bikram Yoga practitioners and patients of medical providers interested in starting a yoga practice to take the reins on their general health and rehab journeys.

My goal here is to build bridges between the yoga and medical worlds because teaming up means everyone gets better together. This workshop is equally applicable to folks who are interested in yoga for preventing and healing medical conditions, as well as those who are interested in improving athletic performance, because the techniques are based on universal principles of biomechanics.

Thank you to studio owner Adrianna at Mija Hot Yoga for supporting this effort and I’m looking forward to seeing what we’re able to accomplish together!

Pre-register at mijahotyoga.com. Please note you’re welcome to take class after the workshop. We’ll use that time to integrate the techniques so they’re yours forever. This is an awesome value for what I’m offering here, so I hope you’re able to make it. Reach out if you have any questions.
