Face covering requirement: State Secretary of Health John Wiesman is issuing a health order requiring face coverings while in public in Washington.

Beginning this Friday, everyone 5 years and older will be required to wear face coverings in any indoor public space, in line to enter public spaces, on public transportation and when outdoors and unable to maintain 6 feet of distance.

Children younger than 2 should not wear face coverings. Face coverings are recommended for children 2-5 years old, but are not required. And individuals with medical conditions that can be exacerbated by face coverings are exempt.
