Those of us who are in recovery, especially those of us who were ministry professionals recognize patterns of lies and people who can’t not lie more easily than others, primarily because we were some of the best liars on the planet.

If you are going to pay to see me, don’t lie and expect it to go unrecognized. I will have a lot of compassion for you and I will also call you on your s**t. I may not challenge you directly. I was trained to hit propel “on the slant.” But you will love the encounter knowing you were seen for who you are, not as you presented yourself.

This article from USA Today will land with a number of folk. Betrayal, no matter it’s form hurts. Finding ways to navigate betrayal - your partner choosing something, some opportunity, or someone as being more important than you - is no easy task; but an important one for all of us to master.
