I've shared with patients for years my concerns about long-term effects of alcohol sugars. Research is now linking them to increased risk for blood clots. Please avoid these artificial sweeteners (xylitol, erythritol, etc). Read packages carefully as these sweeteners are frequently added to stevia and monk fruit products. Fruit is best to satisfy a sweet tooth. Honey and maple syrup can be used in moderation.
