What we resist persists.

We do not win a fight with what lives inside us. We can spend years, decades, an entire lifetime in that fight and the thing we are fighting will still be there. The illness, the fear, the grief, the pattern we cannot shake, the part of ourselves we cannot bring ourselves to look at. The more energy we pour into the resistance, the more alive it stays.

The medicines help us to see. When you sit with them honestly they will bring you face to face with exactly what you have been unwilling or unable to face. And in that space, they ask you to stop fighting. To turn toward the thing and say, I see you. I accept that you exist. Let's talk.

Something important happens when we are able to do that. Not because the thing disappears but because we are no longer spending our life force trying to keep it at bay. We can finally be in relationship with it. We can ask what it came to teach us. We can begin to move the energy. The work is always relational, both internally and externally.

Soul loss is what happens when trauma causes parts of our vital essence to leave the body. It carries with it our gifts, our aliveness, our most authentic access to ourselves. And in its absence, life takes more effort than it otherwise would. The fire inside burns low. Something keeps pulling us back to the same place, season after season, and we sense that insight alone has not been enough to change it. This is the oldest wound there is. And it can be healed.

Coming Back to Self is a three day soul retrieval retreat on sacred land in San Diego, May 22 to 24. In ceremony, we go into the places where the soul has been waiting and we call those parts home. This is soul level healing.

This is for you if you have been circling the same patterns and know something deeper is asking to be seen and met.

This is for the cycle breakers. The ones healing not just for themselves but for those who came before and those who will come after.

When we sit in ceremony with sacred medicines, we can choose to enter a living relationship with the stories and memories carried in our bloodlines. The medicines can be worked with to open what has been held in silence. They bring forward the layers that shape how we see ourselves and how we move through the world.

Some of what rises comes as fear, scarcity, or the need to stay small. Some of it shows up as the hesitation to be seen or to speak truth, the ancient memory often called the witch wound. These patterns live in the nervous system until we meet them with care and allow them to move. This is the work of the cycle breaker, the one who tends the healing of the lineage through presence and love.

This is the work we will be doing together at Mount Shasta this New Year, ancestral healing with the sacred medicines of the Earth, held by the wisdom of the well ancestors and the living spirit of the mountain.

If you feel called to walk this path of remembrance and healing, you are welcome to join us.

There have been long seasons where I felt flattened by illness, grief, confusion, and the weight of systems that make it hard to breathe. In those places, the word “gratitude” felt thin if it stayed in the realm of ideas. What began to change things was when gratitude moved from being something I thought I was “supposed” to feel into a way of being in relationship.

Relationship with the land and waters that keep me alive.
Relationship with the trees, mountains, winds, and rivers that have held so much of my process.
Relationship with the ancestors and lineages that brought me here, with all their beauty and all their pain.
Relationship with the people who have walked beside me and helped me remember who I am when I had forgotten.

From that place, gratitude is less about listing blessings and more about acknowledging the truth.
The truth that I did not get here alone. The truth that the hardest chapters of my life have also carved my discernment, my boundaries, my devotion, and turned me away from paths that were never meant for my soul. The truth that even in a world marked by violence, desacralization, and desacration, there is still a deep part of me that loves being here and wants to live in integrity with my soul.

This is the kind of gratitude my heart is interested in. Not a demand to be cheerful. Not a spiritual performance. But a willingness to stay in relationship with what has shaped me, and to participate in the alchemy of it.

Alchemy, for me, looks like taking what once felt like pure poison and allowing time, prayer, choice, and awareness to slowly turn it into something else. Clearer boundaries. A deeper commitment to truth. An ability to sit with others in their own darkness without turning away. A devotion to living in ways that reduce harm rather than repeating it.

Gratitude is one of the threads that makes that alchemy possible. It reminds me to look for the medicine that emerged from the hardest moments. It reminds me that my life is not a random collection of scenes, but part of a larger story that includes ancestors, the earth, community, and those yet to come.

Mt. Shasta calls those who are ready to walk through a true initiation. To face themselves, break harmful patterns, and remember the power that has always lived within.

This is a journey with the living medicines of the Earth, an experience that reaches places the mind cannot go. Four days of ceremony, elemental work, and ancestral healing held on one of the most powerful mountains in North America.

For those who feel the call to real change, to step into a new year with clarity, strength, and devotion to their path, this is for you. 🌿Apply via Link in Bio

It feels like time for a reintroduction.👋🏻💫

I’m Chelsea, a ceremonialist, shamanic guide, and the steward of Temple Abzu 🐍

I’ve been walking this road for many years, initiated in the Q’ero lineage as a Pampamessayoc, and guided by teachers across diverse earth-based traditions. My work is rooted in ceremonial use of sacred plant teachers - living intelligences that hold profound capacity to guide, teach, and restore balance when we come into right relationship with them.

The soul of my work is informed by my own journey of healing and remembrance. This path has changed me in ways language will never fully hold. It has been a continual apprenticeship to the intelligence of the Earth and the sacred plant teachers, as well as to my own soul. I believe I can only walk beside others to the depths I’ve traveled myself. This work has taken me through shadow and surrender, through layers of forgetting and return, teaching me that true healing is relational and it unfolds as a spiral.

My approach is relational and non-pathologizing. I see symptoms not as flaws, but as intelligent expressions of the soul asking to be heard. Rather than labeling or fixing, I assist those I work with in uncovering the roots of imbalance and reclaim the parts of themselves that have been exiled or forgotten. My practice bridges nature, embodiment, shadow work, energy medicine, and the sacred force of love, weaving indigenous wisdom with the lived realities of Western trauma and society.

As a trauma-informed guide and horsewoman, I bring a way of deep listening that is felt more than spoken, one that honors the language of energy, intuition, and presence. Every process is unique. My role is not to heal, but to mirror, to guide, and to create a space where what has long been silenced, exiled, and relegated to the shadows can find its way home.

At the heart of this work is remembrance: the return to Divine Essence and personal power. The answers are already within you. I’m here to walk beside you as you rediscover them; to hold a field where truth, love, and soul can find their rightful place again.

In Service and Devotion 🙏🏻✨🐉
