Nature can be a great inspiration for a yoga practice. Flowers and other plants don’t think about what they look like when they’re growing and blooming — they just feel their way through it slowly, seeking the sun and the rain. What would happen if you unfolded into your poses that way, playing with how far your body was willing to open, and not judging your experience?

Tuesday, an all-floor Gentle class, and on Wednesday, lots of ways to use yoga straps to make poses easier or to shift the muscle work from one place to another (hands-free Down Dog, anyone?).

This week, at our new class time of 10am Pacific Standard (noon Central)! On Monday, a deeply grounding practice to calm the central nervous system. Tuesday, an all-floor Gentle class; and Wednesday, playing with movement within and between poses. All classes live streamed on Zoom, $10 per person per class. All levels welcome!

On the mat this week: a practice of repeating pose sequences, allowing your body and mind to find greater ease and depth with each visit. All-floor Gentle on Tuesday, focusing on the digestive system with long holds. And Wednesday, poses to stretch and strengthen your neck and shoulders.

This week (which I almost couldn’t post as Insta decided to re-organize all my photos in a random order and remove a lot of them)! Monday we look at a balancing pose, Warrior Three, and its modifications and alternatives (feel free to use a chair or blocks). Tuesday, a Gentle class with both standing and floor poses, and Lunar Flow on Wednesday — a day late for the full moon, but who can’t use a little grounding and hip work right now?

This week in online yoga! Starting with a practice that takes inspiration from nature, allowing us to unfold into our poses and stretch from within, rather than trying to shape our poses from the outside (appearance) in … then an all-floor Gentle class that mainly centers around the plexus chakra, right where the two sides of the ribs meet. Finally, on Wednesday, a look at Shoulderstand — a beginner inversion which stimulates the vagus nerve, helps with asthma and allergies, stretches the spine, and improves circulation among other things! We’ll look at alternatives to this pose that use a wall and/or a yoga block.
