We’re a big fan of their products! 👍🏻👍🏻

I made a new friend last weekend at the Indiana Youth Expo and his name is David Crosley!

He is the man, the myth, the brains behind DF Crosley Livestock Infection Protection.

I have seen the product advertised but never had it in my arsenal… until now! I’d like to think that our “infection protection” program is pretty bulletproof….. right up until one ewe on our string tested my ever loving patience on that front this year 😃

According to Mr.Crosley, who is a kind and generous industry supporter, their 3 step process is designed specifically for animals to 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙚, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 & 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 bacterial and fungal infections. There are slight variations in the “conditioning” step depending on your species of choice to compliment their specific hair and skin needs.

What’s super cool is it’s been formulated alongside show families and is made right
here in Indiana!! 🇺🇸

What’s even cooler is he gave out 800 bottles of his shampoo at IYE and 500 bottles at ISF! That’s a generous and passionate believer in his product and how it can help show families and livestock producers!

I’ll report back on product performance, but check them out for yourself 👇🏻

We’re extremely blessed and can’t wait to see these Christmas babies in December from our first on-farm flush! 🎄

Special thanks to our RSG crew, Dr. Dave and Katherine, along with all the helping hands! 🙏🏼

Even having a couple donors not carrying their weight, we were able to average 5.5 embryos per donor! 🧫

📍Vandalia as you’re making trips through Central, MO this spring! This will be an exciting set to checkout!

Most important tool in our feed room?

THE SCALE!!

We emphasize the importance of precision when it comes to feeding your lambs. 📊 While feeding by volume might seem easier, it doesn’t offer the consistency your lambs need for proper growth and performance.

Here’s why weighing your feed matters:

Consistency: By weighing, you ensure that your lambs get the right amount of nutrients every single time, rather than estimating based on volume.

Optimal Growth: Proper feed amounts lead to better weight gain, muscle development, and overall health.

Cost Efficiency: When you measure accurately, you're avoiding overfeeding or underfeeding, saving both feed costs and reducing waste.

More Control: You can track intake more accurately, which helps you adjust their diet based on their needs.

So on your next Walmart run, be sure to pick up a scale if you haven’t already!

💡Tuesday Tip 💉
Needle Size/Length For sheep 🐑, a 20-gauge needle that is 1 to 1.5 inches long is typically recommended (depending on wool length and fat cover) for giving PG600 and Folltropin shots.

🐐For goats, a 20- to 23- gauge needle that is 1 to 1.5 inches long is recommended. Using smaller gauge needles for goats tend to cause less discomfort and make the process smoother if females tend to be needle shy. Please note that when using smaller gauge needles, the needles can bend more easily if the animal moves suddenly.
