The topic for our first EFT Marma Tapping Class was 'Listening to your body's impulse to stop and rest; Reclaiming your worthiness to stop.'
This topic is really so rich and ripe for inquiry, I thought we could make it the Theme for August. I have continued to explore this topic, tap on it and have noticed it showing up in my conversations with friends, clients and my body.
Sensation is the language of the body.
Our body's are constantly giving us cues and signals to redirect us and let us know what we need.
We can often ignore our body's signals in service of getting one more thing done and push ourselves in to a state of stress.
When we are in a state of fight, flight or freeze, the rest, digest and repair mechanisms of the body get shut down. When we are in survival, healing is not possible.
Where are places you override your bodies physiology?
Here are some of the answers, from the class, to this question:
-I stay up passed the time when I’m exhausted
-I overeat
-I don’t say no when I want to for fear of people being disappointed or leaving me
-I keep working until my body is tight and in pain
- I rush, creating regular adrenaline surges
- I keep doing one more thing when I’m tired, thirsty or need the bathroom
What keeps you in a state of pushing and not listening to your body's signals to stop and rest?
Is there an underlying belief around your worthiness? Is there a hidden belief that you have to do something to prove your worth and value? This is a big question to continue to explore through the month.
August Community Challenge:
Where is a place you want to practice listening to your body’s impulses and affirming your own worthiness this month?
For me, I am tackling my life-long pattern of rushing. (Taking a deep breath as I write this.)
The mantra that has been supporting me is, “I move through my life with grace and ease.” "I am worthy of feeling peaceful and at ease."
I look forward to hearing what is alive in you as you explore this inquiry.
