This award is given to individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership, ground breaking innovation and a commitment to improving patient care. Dr.Stephenson was selected by her peers based on professional accomplishments, impact and alignment with Cedars Aspen Values. Recipients of this award are figures in Ophthalmology who have made significant contributions to research, clinical practice, and education, setting high standards for their peers and inspiring future generations. Cataract is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. If not treated, cataracts can lead to blindness. In addition, the longer cataracts are left untreated, the more difficult it can be to successfully remove the cataract and restore vision. During Cataract Awareness Month in June, Stephenson Eye Associates reminds the public that early detection and treatment of cataracts is critical to preserving sight.
