I typically Would not share testimonials from clients however since I’m trying to build my practice, I wanted to share this testimonial from one of the clients I’m currently working with. It’s so kind and I’m so grateful this client and every client that I’ve worked with intuitively remotely or in person has been incredible the process is amazing and I am so grateful.
I’m not looking for praise, and I know this seems a little self indulgent however advocating for myself is something that I’m learning to do so I wanted to share. I in an effort to protect the clients information I scratched out her name,Thank you

“"I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me." -Joshua Graham

That’s the beautiful thing about light, it is of the highest frequency and higher frequencies always extinguish lower frequencies.

She has a knowing about her that gently nudges her, guiding her to her truth, encouraging her to move from behind those dark clouds-and if she does not listen to the gentle nudging of her knowing, her Devine will create a perfect storm that forces her to unite her knowing with her sight, and she will see the path of destruction she is leaving behind.

So she’ll choose light, She’ll choose love and she choose compassion, both for the darkness and her own light. The win is actually hers.

She is love and she will always find her way because-there is a fire inside of her that will always burn brighter than the darkness surrounding her.

To Darkness-

I SEE YOU. I know you are struggling in silence and so your defense is to cause harm-but you don’t have to-you also have a light inside of you, if only you are willing to embrace it, there is true joy, but that means you have to take responsibility for the darkness you are pouring on undeserving people, I know your fears.

You may feel like you won. however, light always SEE’s through you darkness, and she will Overcome. You will still be forced to sit with your self. You may take your own pain and use it as a catalyst to cause havoc and chaos in someone’s else’s life-but you are hurting people needlessly and without merit! This projection, may give you some gratification but in the end-you still loose, you are still hurt, you are still struggling. Embrace your own light-be a beacon of hope instead of a wrecking ball that harms needlessly.

Yesterday I was so sad-sadder than I’ve been in a long long time-I am not quite sure what triggered it but it “sucked”-but I reminded myself to sit with it-“just sit with this feeling Joanie, don’t put it in that little box-Don’t hide it away”.

I know it’s scary, I know there is pain-just trust me-be still and let it wash over you-do you trust me-I am here, you are not alone, it is safe to feel all of your feelings, ALL OF THEM-so feeeeeel them.

Remember if you deny them you give them power, they grow, oh how you attach meaning to them and they become the lies, the voices that like an endless loop, cause chaos in your head-so you cover them in blankets soaked of shame and guilt, You l wear it like a cloak to protect you from the monsters-from the darkness. Well I am your feelings and I am your shield-you are safe.

Yesterday I let myself feel sad.....I sat with my sadness/ Foreboding-quietly cursing it-I closed my eyes and swayed through the storm, prepared my vessel and picked up my ores- gliding through a river of, convulsing waves water fell, it ran down swollen crests of cheeks, navigating through the thin lines left like monuments to remind me of the lessons she brought me the last time we sat.

Her hold loosened giving way to tenderness-she let go. With grace she hushed me as she moved-sitting steadfast she settled beautifully to the fragile corner of my soul.

in wait, she whispered the she hushed me-“I’m here” she said. “until you called upon me again, I wait-Happiness is on her way”.

On my lips saltiness settled into sweet-She smiled knowingly, pleased with my courage; I sat with my sadnesss and it gave me strength-I grew once again.

Yesterday sat with my Sadness and she loves me-she gave me joy

I am AWESOME, I am Grateful.

Joanie earned her MA in Forensic Psychology in 2013 from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. There, she learned to focus on such underlying issues as anxiety and depression; phobias or fears; grief and loss; dissatisfaction with work; intr**ersonal and interpersonal relationships; body image and spirituality.

For more than 15 years, Joanie has brought a compassionate, intuitive approach to her calling as a clinical therapist. A gifted intuitive and humanitarian, Joanie strives to create a calm, safe space for clients to work through unresolved issues. Using a holistic mental health approach (mind, body, spirit), she helps clients uncover, articulate and release the sources of their presenting problems. This form of integrative psychotherapy teaches clients to connect to their own intuition and evolve into their true essence.

After 10 years specializing in trauma and addiction treatment, she recently served as Intensive Outpatient Coordinator for Addiction for a residential facility focused on treating formerly incarcerated women. In 2021, she began practicing trauma-informed Intuitive Therapy remotely via Zoom or Skype. Joanie is also trained in creative expression/art therapy and Reiki. She moderates art therapy, creative expression, mindfulness/meditation, and addiction recovery groups. Her background also includes public speaking, peer counseling, victim advocacy, domestic violence and r**e crisis counseling. Most recently, she joined Solstice Health and Wellness, moderating aftercare group therapy for addiction treatment.

Joanie is currently developing a portfolio of work as an artist, writer and subject matter expert. During the pandemic crisis, she created 13 paintings that she calls The Goddess Series--each representing a different facet of her personality. She is currently working on her life project--a book about mental health, addiction, trauma and the societal stigmas associated with it. As part of this process, she contributed as a guest speaker to a podcast about trauma/mental health and su***de. She also participated in a documentary about demonstrating empathy during the existing pandemic.
