In prenatal visits with my clients, I talk about the primal transition we take as birthers. At first, we’re upright. We’re walking around. Smiling. Laughing. Excited that our baby is coming. As we get deeper into labor land, we start to lean. Needing support from our partner, loved one. Lean against something to relieve pressure as contractions are getting hot and heavy. And as the heat turns up, we start to strip our layers. Becoming the animal within. And if you allow yourself to go there, to go deep, to let go. Be open to your inner knowing, you will find your strength and power as the pains start to overwhelm. And then you get to the point where you find yourself on all fours, rocking and roaring with those surges. It’s safe to go there. And once you’re there, you’ll find your body take over. And your heart open to receive your baby.
