You can have a good loving relationship. You don’t have to feel so alone anymore. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, former Psychology Professor, and Author. I’ve had the honor of sharing with Cosmopolitan, the Wall Street Journal and L.A. But, I know what it’s like to struggle to find love. I grew up in a really challenging family. And no matter how hard I tried I couldn't figure out h

ow to have a good relationship. But, I got help and it worked. I’m now happily married to someone I really love, who really loves me. And it can work for you, too. Sometimes you just need someone who’s been there to show you the way.

We get hardwired to accept bad behavior. Instead of realizing we deserve to be treated with love kindness and respect. 🙏🏼

The scars of your past may have taught you to cling to those who dim your light, fearing the darkness of being alone. But as you heal, like the moon finding her fullness after a long eclipse, you understand that the real fear lies not in losing others, but in losing the essence of who you are. You are the wildflower that grows fiercely, untamed by the winds of others’ expectations. Protect your roots, nurture your own soil, and never let anyone make you forget the power you hold within.🐢

True healing begins with the bravery to prioritize yourself, refusing to let the fear of losing others dictate your worth. The real question is: will you continue to betray your own peace to keep others comfortable, or will you rise fiercely and embrace the untamed freedom of living authentically?

I shared this in a group where someone asked - What's the biggest cause of Divorce? I got NO REPLIES. 🤔

"I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I'ts sad because most of the conflict has to do with stuff we're not even aware of. Usually we trigger each other's stuff from childhood. But people blame the other person instead of finding out what's really bothering them - the partner does something (usually unintentionally) that hurts the other person that reminds them of how they were hurt growing up. And then they overreact.

When couples learn how to recognize and heal those old family-of-origin wounds they're not so easiily triggered. Plus when you know what your partner's vulnerable areas are the last thing you want to do is make them feel worse. Intead you want to take care of each other. And if you're both willing to do the work and want it to work, it usually can. Not always, but most of the time. At least that's been my experience working with couples."

Just finished Anthony Bordain book with interviews from people who knew and loved him. SO SAD. An addict trying to fill himself up with work. And then love. But when that failed him he gave up. Also sounds like some mental illness - bipolar?

Everyone wishes he would have reached out or that they could have reached him before it was too late... Makes you want to hug your loved ones and hold them tight... for sure. We all really do need each other. It's our OXYGEN. 🫶🏼💟🙏🏻

REAL LOVE is actually very "codependent." The difference is - you're both doing it. You're both caring for each other. It's not just one person giving and one person taking.
