Not sure if it’s lice or just dandruff? You’re not alone—this is one of the most common questions we get.

Dandruff is made up of dry skin flakes. It falls off easily, moves when you touch it, and often shows up across the scalp and shoulders.

Nits are lice eggs. They’re oval-shaped, yellow or white, and stay firmly attached to one side of the hair shaft. You won’t be able to brush them out, and they’re usually found close to the scalp behind the ears or at the nape of the neck.
