are available 24-7 to bridge the gap between your loved ones & the high-quality life they deserve. The founding of Guardian Angel was a result of tragedy and love. In the summer of 1993, Sam & Faye Kassab were living in Dryden, a small town north of Detroit, Michigan. One evening Sam was taking his children to a church program. Danny (then age 7) was so excited that he jumped out of the car first

and proceeded to cross a country road when he saw a car coming toward him. He ran across the road to avoid being struck while the driver, trying to avoid hitting Danny, inevitably struck him. The devastating impact left the seven-year-old severely injured. Within minutes three registered nurses, who happened to be at the church program, rushed to the scene. One of the nurses proceeded to perform CPR on Danny, and her effort was attributed to saving young Danny's life. Instantly, the family changed forever. Their once active son now became a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic requiring 24-hour skilled nursing care. After several months of hospitalization both in and out of state, Danny came home where a "qualified" home health agency would care for him. Sam and Faye thought this was a great idea. However, a couple of months later Danny was hospitalized again from the lack of skilled care he was receiving. The family changed Agencies and brought Danny home. Again, the same problems arose: lack of quality skilled nursing care and many shifts left uncovered. The idea to start a home care agency was crossing their mind. They were very frustrated and saddened that they could not get qualified services for their son. Thus, Guardian Angel was established with a sincere commitment to provide the best quality services with a strong focus on the client.

Did you know? Ventura, officially known as San Buenaventura, was established in 1782 with the founding of Mission San Buenaventura, the ninth California mission, by Saint Junipero Serra. Serra named the mission in honor of the Italian Saint Bonaventure, earning Ventura the nickname "city of good fortune." Strategically located along the Pacific Ocean between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, the city was formally incorporated in 1866. Moreover, Ventura is the region's leader in healthcare and public administration, which is why Guardian Angel home health care of Ventura is now accepting new referrals. 🕊️

A Tragedy That Led to a Lifelong Mission: The Story Behind Guardian Angel Health Care đź’™

What started as an ordinary evening in 1993 turned into a life-changing event for Sam and Faye Kassab. A split-second decision, a hero in the form of a stranger, and a miracle that saved their son’s life ultimately led to the creation of something extraordinary—Guardian Angel Health Care.

This is the powerful, heartwarming story behind why we do what we do... and how one family’s heartbreak inspired a mission to provide the best home health care possible.

One evening, as Sam was driving his children to a church program in Dryden, Michigan, tragedy struck. Their 7-year-old son, Danny, excited to get to the program, rushed out of the car and crossed a country road. In a split second, he found himself in front of an oncoming vehicle. In an attempt to avoid Danny, the driver accidentally struck him. The impact left Danny severely injured, and his life hung in the balance.

Within minutes, three registered nurses, who just happened to be at the church program that evening, rushed to Danny’s side. One of them performed CPR, ultimately saving Danny’s life. But while the miracle of that moment was saving him, their lives were forever changed. Danny, once an active child, was now a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic in need of 24-hour skilled nursing care.

After months of hospitalizations, the family hoped that a home health agency could provide Danny the care he needed. But sadly, what they found was subpar care—unqualified staff and missed shifts that left Danny vulnerable and needing help. This frustration led Sam and Faye to make a decision: they would start their own home health agency with the sole mission of providing the highest-quality care for their son and others who needed it.

That’s when Guardian Angel Health Care was born. Sam and Faye’s personal experience drove them to create a company where the focus was always on quality care and compassion for the clients. They named the company “Guardian Angel” because they believed it was Danny’s three nurses—his Guardian Angels—that saved him that night.

Sadly, Danny passed away in August 2009, but his legacy continues to inspire everything we do. Guardian Angel Health Care remains committed to ensuring every client receives the care they deserve, just as we would want for our own loved ones. đź’™

We honor Danny’s memory and the legacy of his Guardian Angels through the work we do every day. If you or someone you love needs home health care, we are here to provide the best care possible. Reach out to us today.

The research is clear: a diet full of a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, and other plant based foods help lower the risk of cancer.

The compounds found in plant foods – phytochemicals – hold the key to fighting cancer, and reduce the risk of its development. It’s not just the leafy greens that can help keep cancer away, but even the way you prepare your meat. Instead of grilling or frying your next beef tip, try slow cooking or adding the meat to a stew instead.

Don’t worry about what not to eat, but figure out where all your favorite foods cross paths with the cancer fighting ones. The smallest changes to your diet can greatly impact your life.

2. Connect with others: Spending time with people who uplift and support you can be an excellent way to refill emotionally. This could be friends, family members, or a therapist. Talking to someone about your feelings can help you gain perspective and feel more connected to others.

Helping a loved one with an eating disorder can be challenging, but there are some things you can do to provide support and encourage them to seek help. Here are some suggestions:

1. Educate yourself: Learn as much as you can about eating disorders, their causes, symptoms, and treatments. This will help you understand what your loved one is going through and how to best support them.

2. Be supportive: Let your loved one know that you care about them and that you are there to support them. Avoid criticizing their behavior or making negative comments about their body.

3. Encourage them to seek professional help: Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions that require professional treatment. Encourage your loved one to seek help from a doctor, therapist, or registered dietitian who specializes in treating eating disorders.

4. Be patient: Recovery from an eating disorder is a process that takes time and can be challenging. Be patient with your loved one and offer support throughout their journey.

5. Help create a positive environment: Avoid talking about diets, weight loss, or body size around your loved one. Instead, focus on creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages healthy behaviors and positive self-talk.

6. Encourage self-care: Encourage your loved one to engage in activities that promote self-care and stress reduction, such as yoga, meditation, or spending time in nature.

7. Practice self-care: Taking care of yourself is also important when supporting a loved one with an eating disorder. Make sure you are taking time to recharge and seek support if needed.

Remember that supporting a loved one with an eating disorder can be challenging, but it is possible to help them through their recovery journey with patience, compassion, and encouragement.
