I recently have had 3 people I know "throw their back out"
There is a common thread among all of them. Their pelvis is anteriorly tilted, and they sit for a living. Our body adapts to what we do consistently. So if you sit all day (or the majority of your day), your hip flexors and low back muscles are short. Then you stand up. Because you've been sitting more often than standing, your muscles aren't conditioned for the length it required to stand, and because your abs, glutes, and hamstrings aren't strong enough to return your pelvis to a neutral position = compensation & ouch.
I also have multiple clients currently who are dealing with low back back pain, including degeneration, arthritis, and pain. All these people also have something in common. Their pelvic is posteriorly tilted. They tuck their butt. This is the same issue but reversed.
