We recently hosted our Volunteer Appreciation event at Immigrants Son Caffe in Oxnard. At this event, we honored our volunteers for their dedication, compassion, and for making a lasting difference in the community. This year, we honored Ruff Smith, Volunteer Farmers Market Manager, remembered Linda Ramelli, Garden Tour Volunteer, and honored Twila Stanley, Volunteer of the Year.

We are eternally grateful to all of our volunteer members.

We are excited to honor Neva as the Volunteer of the Month for October!

With the hope of reviving our Life Story Program, Neva jumped right in and has been the driving force behind its success. She helped launch the program, completed the very first life story book, and now serves as a mentor and resource for new volunteers eager to get involved.

Neva shared: "It’s a privilege to sit with someone and hear their life story. At the end, they receive a book of their story and photos—a keepsake for them and their loved ones."

I am so proud to work for this amazing organization. There are thousands of hospices in California. Livingston is the only 5-Star in our County and one of 11 in the State. Less than 10% of hospices nationwide rank as 5-Star from Medicare quality reports. Now that is something to be proud of!

We are proud to announce that Livingston Memorial’s Hospice Program has earned a 5-STAR RATING from Medicare — the highest possible score — making us the ONLY 5-star nonprofit hospice agency in Ventura County, and one of only 11- five-star hospices in all of California!

BIG NEWS!

We are proud to announce that Livingston Memorial’s Hospice Program has earned a 5-STAR RATING from Medicare — the highest possible score — making us the ONLY 5-star nonprofit hospice agency in Ventura County, and one of only 11- five-star hospices in all of California!

This prestigious rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is based on the quality of care provided and reflects our strong commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and high-quality end-of-life care.

This honor belongs to every member of our incredible hospice team — nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and staff — who bring comfort, dignity, and support to our patients and their loved ones every day.

Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association has proudly served the community for 78 years. As the most experienced and only nonprofit home health and hospice agency in Ventura County, we are deeply committed to delivering care and support when it’s needed most.

Thank you to our community for trusting us during life’s most vulnerable moments. We are truly honored to serve you.
