Therapy is better together. 💙

One of the things we love most at Children’s Therapy Network is that kids aren’t always working alone in a quiet room with just a therapist.

Instead, they get to move, laugh, observe, and interact with other kids while building important skills.

When children see peers trying something new — balancing, reaching, throwing, climbing — something powerful happens:
✨ They get curious
✨ They get motivated
✨ They gain confidence

Sometimes the best progress comes from watching a friend try first or celebrating each other's success.

Pediatric therapy isn’t just about exercises — it’s about connection, confidence, and community.

And yes… it should absolutely include a little fun too. 😊

🌎✨ Happy International Day of Happiness! ✨🌈

At Children’s Therapy Network, we get to experience happiness in its purest form every single day…

💛 A child’s first word
💛 A proud “I did it!” moment
💛 Giggles echoing through the gym
💛 The joy of connection between a child and their therapist

There is something incredibly powerful about the innocence of children — the way they celebrate the smallest wins, stay present in the moment, and remind us that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s not the big milestones…
It’s the tiny ones that mean everything.

Today, we’re celebrating the joy, resilience, and light that every child brings into our world — and the privilege we have to be part of their journey.

✨ Let’s spread a little extra happiness today ✨
Tell us… what makes YOU happy? ⬇️

🎥 Therapy doesn’t stop when the session ends.

At Children’s Therapy Network, we’re always looking for ways to help kids continue building skills between therapy sessions—and that’s where RTM (Remote Therapeutic Monitoring) comes in.

In this video, Jeffrey, one of our incredible therapists, shares how he uses Korro.ai as part of our RTM program to help his clients practice, stay engaged, and make meaningful progress at home.

RTM allows therapists to:

📊 Monitor progress between visits
🏡 Support families with guided home practice
🎮 Use interactive platforms that keep kids motivated
🤝 Stay connected with families outside of the clinic

Tools like Korro help turn practice into something kids actually want to do — which means more consistency and better outcomes.

We’re so proud of therapists like Jeffrey who are helping families take therapy beyond the clinic walls.

👩‍⚕️ Therapists & Practice Owners — Quick Question:
Do you have your NPI yet?

Most of what we post at Children’s Therapy Network is for parents and treating therapists, but sometimes I get questions from new grads and new hires about the administrative side of healthcare.

One of the most common questions I hear is:

👉 “What is an NPI number, and how do I get one?”

An NPI (National Provider Identifier) is a unique ID number issued to healthcare providers in the United States. You’ll need it for things like:

✔️ Billing insurance
✔️ Credentialing with insurance companies
✔️ Electronic health records
✔️ Compliance with federal healthcare regulations

The good news? Applying is actually pretty simple.

In this video I walk you through:

📋 What an NPI number is and why it matters
💻 How to apply step-by-step using the NPPES system
📄 What documents you need before starting
☎️ Alternative ways to apply (online, phone, or paper)

If you’re a new therapist, starting a practice, or entering healthcare, getting your NPI is one of the first professional steps you should take.

🌙 Happy National Sleep Day!

Sleep isn’t lazy.
Sleep is essential.

For children, sleep is when some of the most important development happens. During sleep, the brain is busy:

🧠 Building neural connections
📚 Consolidating learning and memory
💪 Supporting growth and physical development
😊 Regulating emotions and behavior

When kids don’t get enough sleep, it can show up as meltdowns, poor focus, hyperactivity, or difficulty learning — not because they’re being difficult, but because their brains and bodies are tired.

So how much sleep do kids actually need?

😴 Preschoolers (3–5 years): 10–13 hours
😴 School-age children (6–12 years): 9–12 hours
😴 Teenagers (13–18 years): 8–10 hours

That’s often much more than we think.

One of the greatest gifts parents can give their children is healthy sleep habits early in life.

Simple routines like:

✨ Consistent bedtime and wake time
📚 Calm bedtime rituals (reading, quiet time)
📱 Limiting screens before bed
🛏 Creating a predictable sleep environment

These routines don’t just help tonight…
they build lifelong habits for health, learning, and emotional well-being.

So tonight, if your child is sleeping peacefully, remember:
their brain is doing some of its most important work.

What is Sensory Integration? 🤔

Sensory integration is the way the brain organizes and responds to information from the body and environment—things like touch, movement, sound, and body awareness.

When a child’s sensory system is overwhelmed or under-responsive, it can affect attention, emotions, behavior, and learning.

One tool therapists sometimes use is the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, which provides deep pressure input to help regulate the nervous system.

But here’s something many parents don’t realize 👇

Brushing is just ONE tool.

For some children—especially those who are more sensitive—gentle massage techniques can be a great place to start. Massage can provide calming sensory input and help the body regulate without feeling too intense.

In this video I show:
✔️ Gentle massage alternatives
✔️ Joint compressions for proprioceptive input
✔️ How to build a sensory routine
✔️ How to transition to brushing if appropriate

And yes… my very patient son makes a guest appearance helping demonstrate. 😂

👉 Watch the video here and explore more sensory tips on my channel. https://youtu.be/MY7epwmwPWA

🎉 Supporting Our Team – And Their Families! 🎉

At Children’s Therapy Network, we love celebrating the passions and accomplishments of our team — both inside and outside the clinic.

One of our amazing Speech-Language Pathologists, Holly, shared something exciting with us this week. Her talented and hilarious twin sister has been working hard on a brand new Netflix animated comedy called “Strip Law.” (P.S. Adult Content, not made for kids)

The show follows lawyers on the Las Vegas Strip and has officially been released on Netflix! 🎬

Holly asked if we could help support her sister by giving the show a DOUBLE THUMBS UP 👍👍 on Netflix, which helps the platform decide which shows get renewed for another season.

So if you’re browsing Netflix this week and want to support one of our CTN family members and her family, check it out!

Because at CTN, we believe in cheering each other on — whether it’s celebrating a child’s therapy milestone or a family member’s creative success. 💙
