Absolutely obsessed with this beauty’s results after her first-ever Botox treatment!! 😍

Our schedule is already starting to book into November! It’s time to start planning your holiday prep!!

For most treatments, we recommend scheduling at least 2 weeks ahead of any holidays or important events.
-Botox takes 1-2 weeks to kick in
-Filler takes 1-2 weeks to settle
-Microneedling takes about a week to heal
-Peels have 7-10 days of downtime
-Sculptra and Kybella can take up to 6 weeks for final results

Loving this mini lip plump fresh off the needle 💉

This gorgeous gal has what we call an M-shaped upper lip. This means the volume is focused primarily in the center of the lip and at the lateral borders, with a curved space of volume deficit on each side like the letter M. Filling these lips can be a challenge, but luckily I love a challenge!

My tips for M-shaped lips:
- Build slowly! Start with a half syringe of filler like we did here, and gradually build volume over multiple sessions until the desired volume is achieved. This allows the lip tissue to gradually adapt to more volume over time, significantly reducing the risk of filler migration.
- Fill only the deficits! The center of her top lip is naturally full, so no filler was added here. Too much filler in the center will make this already-full portion appear “beaky”. 🐦 Instead, the volume should be focused a bit closer to the sides to create more of a rounded and uniform shape.
- Choose the right product! This type of lip needs some structure. The softest, most forgiving fillers may not be structured enough to adequately fill the deficits of the M shape. My go-tos for this type of lip are Restylane Kysse or RHA3. Occasionally Juvéderm Ultra when the goal is a little more oomph. 💋

One year ago today, Ventura Coast Med Spa opened our doors for the first time. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by!

Branching out on my own and becoming a business owner was one of the scariest, most spontaneous, and BEST decisions of my life. I truly love what I do, and I’m so lucky to have a schedule packed full of patients who trust me to help them feel beautiful and confident.

I couldn’t have made this happen without the support of my husband , who keeps us running behind the scenes with web and graphic design, marketing, and operations. It’s just the 2 of us behind Ventura Coast, and we are so thankful for your support of our small business.

Another special thank you to , our cozy home in Midtown Ventura. This amazing group of fellow beauty professionals has been so welcoming, and we are honored to continue to share our space with them.

Let’s talk Hylenex!

Hylenex, or Hyaluronidase, is the enzyme that we use to dissolve filler. In the rare case of complications or filler migration, or if you decide filler just isn’t your jam anymore, Hylenex can be injected to reverse its effects.

Filler is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that our body is constantly producing while our natural hyaluronidase is breaking it down. Hylenex is a concentrated version of this enzyme that targets filler, breaking it down to be absorbed and metabolized by the body. The process takes just a few days, with results usually settling within 48 hours.

Swelling and bruising can be expected after Hylenex injections, but these usually don’t last as long as swelling and bruising from filler.

The rule of thumb for Hylenex dosing is 1 vial for every syringe of filler you’ve had injected. For severe migration, often multiple vials and sometimes multiple sessions are needed. Once we have achieved your desired result, it’s safe to re-fill about 2 weeks later.

Not everyone needs to dissolve their filler. When you are treated by an experienced injector, the risk of complications is low and dissolving is rarely needed. However, some people’s natural anatomy is just prone to migration, but thankfully we have a tool to correct it when it happens!

Did you know that the lip flip does more than just flip? This quick and easy tox treatment can also help soften lines around the mouth!

This beauty came in looking for a solution for her vertical lip lines, commonly called “smokers lines”, but they can be caused by any repetitive puckering movement (think straw use, va**ng, constant duck face in photos - I’m looking at you, millennials 😂)

First-time tox results for this awesome patient!

He came in hoping to reduce his wrinkles before his upcoming wedding. We both had the goal of softening his lines without totally freezing the muscles, allowing him to maintain a good amount of movement and natural expression. He was okay with still having some lines, he just wanted them to be softer and more subtle in photos of the big day.
