We offer the latest in cutting edge, FDA-cleared technologies for non-surgical treatment of various musculo-skeletal conditions pertaining to the spine and extremities, including Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Therapy. Our commitment to offering the highest quality of care resulted in the addition of FDA-cleared Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression technology,
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy, and High-power Class IV Laser Therapy. These technologies allow us to successfully treat many musculo-skeletal conditions including the following:
Herniated/Bulging Discs
Pinched Nerve
Sciatica (leg pain)
Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD)
Spinal Stenosis
Post-Surgical Pain
Shoulder Tendinitis
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
Golfer's Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis)
Patellar (knee) Tendinitis
Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain)
Achilles Tendinitis
In the past, patients suffering from musculo-skeletal pain, pain in the extremities, and disc problems were usually given pain medications, instructed to refrain from physical activities, referred for physical therapy, and when they weren't progressing they were sent for injections and/or surgery. Conservative chiropractic, physical therapy, or acupuncture care proved very helpful in many cases, yet there have been some cases when surgery seemed to be the only other option... until now. NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY (NSSD)
Thanks to the concerted efforts of a team of top physicians and medical engineers, Spinal Decompression Therapy was developed to effectively treat lower back pain and sciatica resulting from herniated or degenerated discs. Spinal Decompression Therapy not only significantly reduces back pain in many patients, but also enables the majority of patients to return to more active lifestyles. Spinal Decompression uses state of the art technology to apply a distraction force to relieve nerve compression often associated with low back pain and sciatica. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, not to be confused with linear traction, slowly lengthens and decompresses the spine, creating negative pressures within the discs. This reversal of pressure creates an intradiscal vacuum that helps to reposition bulging discs and pull extruded disc material back into place, taking pressure off pinched nerves. Spinal experts believe that nutrients, oxygen, and fluids are drawn into the disc to create a revitalized environment conducive to healing. HIGH-POWER CLASS IV LASER THERAPY (HPLT)
High-power Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation. During photobiomodulation, photons enter the targeted tissue and interact with the cytochrome c complex within mitochondria. This leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, decrease in pain, reduction in muscle spasm, and improved microcirculation to injured tissues. EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCK WAVE THERAPY (ESWT)
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a noninvasive treatment that involves delivery of acoustic shock waves to injured soft tissue to reduce pain and promote healing. ESWT is effective in accelerated tissue repair and cell growth, pain relief, and restoring /improving motion. ESWT is a viable option to consider for many patients who present with chronic tendinopathy that hasn't responded to more-conservative treatments. Often difficult to treat, chronic tendinopathy is characterized by localized pain and pathological changes to a tendon. Ventura Spine & Disc is located in Ventura, California at:
