Where does the meadowfoam we use in our formulations come from?

It comes from Oregon and is grown sustainably in the Willamette Valley.

I always source my ingredients as mindfully as possible, and I love when I find one that doesn’t require long transportation.

I use meadow foam seed oil in my Heal oil, as well as in my nail & cuticle oil.

Why?

🌼 It deeply hydrates the skin.
🌼 It enhances the absorption of other active ingredients and essential oils.
🌼 It is silky and never sticky.
🌼 It is highly resistant to oxidation (has a long shelf life).

Thank you for allowing me to do what I love, every day!

Sometimes I can hardly believe that at this stage of my life I’m more creative than ever, happier in my work than ever, learning more than ever, experimenting more than ever, and feeling freer than ever!

Now if only I could fully embrace the grey hair, the saggier neck, and the expansion of my waistline 🤣!

Happy Wednesday! Today I’m off to the beach with a good friend! What could be better?

BERGAMOT essential oil contains natural compounds that can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, which may increase the risk of dark spots or irritation if applied before you go into the sunshine.

BERGAMOT FCF (FuroCoumarin Free) has these sun-sensitizing compounds removed and is considered safe for leave-on skincare and daytime use.

However, up until recently, I had to use a lot more BERGAMOT FCF in my formulations, because the process of removing these sun-sensitizing compounds meant losing some of the bright juicy deliciousness of the scent.

Not any more!

I am absolutely thrilled to have found a NEW fabulous natural BERGAMOT FCF that smells just as fantastic as the regular BERGAMOT. It is made in Italy. I LOVE it!

My new perfume oil🎉😊💕.
Fresh, light, skin-like. It begins with vibrant fresh citrus et settles in with a soft musk aroma that lingers on the skin.

Great for a positive outlook on your day!

PS: I have discovered an outstanding bergamot FCF (bergaptene-free - that doesn’t make your skin sensitive to the sun) that is as bright, refreshing, and fragrant as regular bergamot. Such a beautiful scent!

I’m so happy to once again have a booth at the annual Ventura Earth Day Festival.

This Saturday, April 18th, from 11 to 4, at Plaza Park (by the downtown post office).

Rêves de Sabine is a green-certified business, which means meeting specific environmental and sustainable standards in the way I work.

I choose packaging that is reusable, recyclable, or compostable—always with the intention of leaving as light a footprint as possible.

Everything is made fresh each week, in small batches, so nothing goes to waste. It’s an intimate way of working, one that feels deeply aligned with how I care for skin, well-being, and the planet.

If you’re nearby, come say hello. I’d love to share what I’ve been making… including a new all-natural perfume oil I’m very excited about.

Hope to see you there, supporting something that touches all of us.

Today, I feel like myself.

I’ve often felt a little on the outside… never one to follow what didn’t feel true to me.

And honestly, I’m grateful for that.
Because today, I feel closer to who I really am than ever before.

There’s something deeply satisfying about doing what you love - no forcing, no pretending.

Just listening to that inner voice, and trusting it.

Happy Monday!

I can be vain, and I notice how quickly a look in the mirror can shift my energy.

When I focus on the signs of aging, I slip into a state of lack that I know is counter-productive (and, to be honest, unbecoming).

As Sophie Uliano so eloquently said: stop thinking “How can I go back to who I was?” and instead ask “Who can I become?” (What a beautiful state of mind that opens so many doors). This really resonated with me…

The truth is that, inside, I have no age. I feel alive, full of excitement and curiosity. I do something that I love, on my own terms, which is hugely better than anything I have ever done before! I am free to shape my life the way I want.

So… I am learning to meet the mirror with pride instead of judgment, and own what it is showing me. To actually feel grateful for what I see, the wisdom, the determination, the resilience, the enthusiasm, the idealism. And yes, this is what it all looks like.

Can you relate?

If you love the scent of musk… you already know. There’s nothing quite like it — sensuous, skin-like, definitely addictive.

True musk was a known aphrodisiac and fabulous fixative in perfumes. Now if is completely off the table (as it should be, given that it was taken from a gland from the musk deer), and what replaced it was mostly synthetic. Enticing in its own way, but… not great.

Actually, in the 80s, my friend Katie and I used to buy a musk fragrance oil from a shop up in Humbolt County… I just found out they still sell it! But now I have to have everything natural… because it’s just so much better for you!

That’s where AMBRETTE comes in! It is distilled from Abelmoschus moschatus, a.k.a. MUSKMALLOW. A plant. An actual seed. And guess what… it brings back that same sensual, beautiful, enveloping feeling! I am crazy about AMBREETE SEED OIL. Why?
• It is a true botanical musk
• It is soft yet rich, radiant, sweet, nutty/seed-like, a touch earthy, skin-like
• It smoothes everything it touches
• and yes… It has that naturally aphrodisiac quality

It’s the kind of ingredient in a perfume that makes people lean in a little closer without knowing why.

I use it in my Lotus Raslila perfume oil and eau de toilette (one of my bestsellers), but am also working on a brand new scent that will make it more the hero of the blend… stay tuned!

Share if you have any memories tied to the scent of musk! I’d love to hear it!!!

No two skins are similar…
Some of us can take a lot of sun, while others burn easily. Some are sensitive, some are not. Some are oily, some are dry… but one thing we all want is glowing skin.

One of the best things we can do for healthy skin is to gently exfoliate before a shower or a bath - to remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood flow - and then, after the shower (or bath), massage the skin lovingly with a nourishing oil while it is still damp, to lock in moisture and get that silky, smooth finish.

It may be simple… but it makes a real difference.

The oils I create use the finest ingredients, because to me there is no hierarchy in the skin… the skin on our feet is just as important as the skin on our face.

If you can, check out what I’ve created on the Rêves de Sabine website.

I only have you in mind.

With love,

Sabine

PS: Tip if you’re in a hurry: Use a non-scented lotion first and dab some lightly all over. Do the same with one of Rêves de Sabine’s body oils. Blend the two as you massage your skin. The oil will pe*****te faster and glide more easily... 2 minutes vs. 5...
