I don’t know what changed my perception of YLANG YLANG, but one day, I went from disliking it to really appreciating its richness and complex aroma. I think I also learned to work with it.

YLANG YLANG is known for its ability to calm the nervous system, ease tension, and softly uplift the mood. Perhaps it is why it feels right at this time…

Its scent is truly complex—lush, creamy, and intense. Not a love-at-first-smell for me. But I am discovering over time that its warmth, depth, and understated sensuality make it actually captivating. Blended with other, less floral essences, it mellows out and becomes truly comforting.

What is your perception of YLANG YLANG? Is it one of the scents you are drawn to? If so… can you articulate why? I’m truly curious… it is part of my AIMÉE body/massage oil.

Your skin and your wellbeing are what matters most to me.

That’s why I use only the finest ingredients—cold-pressed, unrefined, organic, or food-grade.

No shortcuts, no fillers, nothing that isn’t truly beneficial for your skin. The only exception is the organic, food-grade alcohol in my eaux de toilette—it can be drying if over-sprayed on, yes, but it’s the best available.

• Vanilla comes from an orchid — the ONLY EDIBLE FRUIT-BEARING ORCHID in the world.

• Each flower blooms for just ONE DAY. If it’s not pollinated within hours, that pod is lost.

• In most regions, every single flower is pollinated BY HAND.

• The pods then take 8–9 months to mature, followed by months of curing to develop that deep, warm aroma we love.

… Which brings me to the incredibly high price of VANILLA, especially lately:

REAL VANILLA is LABOR-INTENSIVE, CLIMATE-SENSITIVE, and is mostly grown in regions like Madagascar, where cyclones and political instability can significantly affect supply. Add GLOBAL DEMAND (especially from the food and fragrance industries)… you get the picture…

But here’s the thing: TRUE VANILLA is not just “sweet.” It’s grounding. It makes a blend feel round, comforting, almost skin-like. In aromatherapy, it’s known to soothe the nervous system and bring a sense of emotional warmth. And, interestingly, men rate the scent of vanilla as highly attractive and pleasurable… which surprised me. I thought they’d find it too sweet… evidently not!

There is no true hair health without scalp health.

Elixir was created to care for both — with concentrated, 100% natural ingredients chosen for their effectiveness and their integrity.

Make it a weekly ritual.

Massage a few drops into your scalp in the evening, slowly, intentionally. Let it absorb overnight. Wash in the morning.

✍🏻There is something almost magical about holding an old letter in your hands: the texture of the paper, the rhythm of the handwriting, the perceptible presence of someone who once took the time to document life in a beautifully graphic way.

This is part of a legal letter from one of my ancestors, who was a notary public. It is dated September 22, 1792 — though it was recorded using the French Republic Calendar, which temporarily replaced the Gregorian system, with twelve thirty-day months, ten-day weeks (décades), and season-based month names.

I often think about how much of who we are is inherited — not just features or names, but sensibility. Taste. Reverence. A way of seeing beauty.

Memory shapes us. Time refines us. And if we allow it, age gives us depth.

All alchemy begins with memory.

And nothing is ever truly lost.

I haven’t used a « commercial lip balm » since I started formulating my own.

I recently had a customer reach out to tell me how much she loves her Sweet Rose lip balm.

It’s a no-brainer: every ingredient is there to heal, nourish, soften, and protect your lips. Even the essential oils of rose, rose geranium, and cardamom which create its beautiful scent are good for the lips’ delicate skin.

I will have some available at my pop up .yoga.vta this Saturday (7:00am to 1pm). If by any chance you haven’t been to Grassroots Yoga, definitely come by and discover this amazing studio, created by visionary Sarah Ingram.
