In the second tri now, so it’s time to move more and regain some endurance. It’s so beautiful outside. Reminds me of Lompoc, where I grew up. Always foggy, windy, and green in the Spring and early summer. Always blue beneath the white clouds and breaks in the fog. The wind always invigorating. The life you can smell as you breathe in nature if you make it to a dirt trail or flower field. I miss it, but will take the embodied nostalgia.

I am so deeply grateful. Rest in gratitude. Slow down. Digest what beauty is front of you. Allow ease in the pain. Invite healing light into the dis-ease and tension inside. Rest is the greatest, most powerful way into healing. The body is incredibly aware. Two years of service with these two and my joy is overflowing.

My Ta**us Moon side got filled up and sang in my spirit with joy today. After brunching and catching up with my long time friend Bethany (how we met will forever be my favorite, a story for another time), she asked, “Want to go to the Gardens of the World?” Wow- beautiful gazebos, rose gardens, koi ponds and flowing water. If you know Ta**uses, you know we are the earth element, and deeply fulfilled slowly existing in nature. I am so happy outside where it’s quiet, smells good, looks attractive, feels nice, and my senses are stimulated by the beauty of nature. It’s grounding.

Why is grounding so fulfilling? We go fast in our society. We think too fast for my ongoing wellbeing. It makes me anxious to be constantly fluttering and flipping through the Rolodex (wow- do you remember what those are?) of ideas, info, planning, communicating, businessing, working… ugh. F**k me— it’s draining.

If you start spiraling with anxious thoughts and dread and your heart rate goes up, & your breathing gets faster like me, but you can’t just instantly step into a beautiful rose garden or listen to flowing water or gaze upon the bright colors of koi fish, try box breathing.

A few cycles of box breath may slow it all down, recenter calm thinking, and bring acceptance of moving at a slower pace, which is more normal to our human nature imo.

Spring has sprung, full moon, gorgeous Soring weather, and, most importantly, such an abundant creative community so celebrate the times with. I was so blessed to guide yoga with The Sun Circle, amongst solid and loving artists investing in community connection here in Ventura. Keep an eye out for them and future gatherings for movement, mindfulness, tea circles with handcrafted, locally made tea, music, paintings, textiles, handcrafted locally made jewelry, and more. I was rejuvenated and inspired by the beautiful energy.
