Health Care Foundation for Ventura County (HCFVC) is pleased to announce a significant philanthropic investment of $1,258,949.35 in critical medical equipment for Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC). This contribution underscores HCFVC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Ventura County’s public healthcare safety-net system and ensuring access to high-quality, compassionate care for all.

As part of this investment, HCFVC provided a Philips Ingenia 1.5T DS MRI System, significantly expanding VCMC’s diagnostic imaging capacity.
This transformative addition was made possible through the generous support of the Aramont Charitable Foundation and the Weinberger Trust, in memory of Dr. Laurence M. Weinberger.

To enhance patient care and clinical efficiency, HCFVC also supplied a BD Alaris Infusion Pump System, which supports the precise and safe delivery of fluids and medications. This essential equipment was funded by Roots & Wings Foundation, National Charity League Juniors of Ventura County, and the Weinberger Trust, in memory of Dr. Laurence M. Weinberger.

In support of respiratory services, HCFVC funded the purchase of a Fluke VT900A Gas Flow Analyzer. This device allows in-house biomedical teams to ensure ventilator performance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. The gas flow analyzer was fully funded by the Weinberger Trust, in memory of Dr. Laurence M. Weinberger.

“This substantial investment in advanced medical technology reflects our deep commitment to the health and well-being of Ventura County residents,” said Amy Towner, CEO of HCFVC.

Health Care Foundation for Ventura County is grateful to grantors and generous donors for making transformative investments like these possible at VCMC. Your continued support strengthens our public healthcare system and helps deliver the highest quality care to patients across Ventura County.

Health Care Foundation for Ventura County CEO Amy Towner recently welcomed Paulina Veana, Driscoll's Ventura County Community Engagement Manager, and Maria Feith Paniagua from Driscoll’s Peru for a firsthand look at the meaningful local impact of Driscoll’s continued generosity.

The visit began at Las Islas Clinic in Oxnard, where they viewed the new state-of-the-art diabetes care equipment made possible by Driscoll’s recent philanthropic investment. They also encountered a recognition plaque honoring Driscoll’s contributions, proudly displayed across seven federally qualified health centers in Oxnard.

At Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC), Paulina and Maria Feith met Jorge Mejia, Director of Language Access and Interpreter Services, and Dr. Minako Watabe, Chief Medical Officer. There, they learned about the transformative impact of the Language Access Program in advancing health equity and strengthening communication between providers and patients across Ventura County.

Thank you, Paulina, Maria Feith, and the entire Driscoll’s team for taking the time to see your generosity in action. Your continued support strengthens the healthcare systems that serve the places we live, work, and play, and reflects the shared belief that a healthy population is the foundation of a thriving community.

As the Language Access Department at Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital continues to expand, Health Care Foundation for Ventura County is pleased to support the launch of a new Health Care Interpreter Training, a 40-hour, in-person program designed for interpreters working in medical, education, government, and nonprofit settings.

Led by Jorge Mejia, Director of Language Access and Inclusive Services, this comprehensive training will equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and cultural sensitivity needed to serve our community with professionalism and care.

The initial sessions will be offered exclusively to Ventura County employees, with plans to expand access to the broader community shortly thereafter. HCFVC is pleased to support this vital initiative by providing textbooks and learning materials for all participants.

This program reflects our shared commitment to advancing health equity and strengthening communication between providers and patients across Ventura County. We look forward to the lasting impact this training will have on Ventura County Health Care Agency and the community it serves.
