Year in review with Sarah: What Grassroots Yoga Means to Me 💚
Grassroots Yoga is built on three core values that shape everything we do: consistency, quality, and community.
These values have guided us from the very beginning when our classes were held on the actual grass in Ventura’s parks ten years ago. We started small, we grew intentionally, and we grew together. Because of that, this studio has always felt like family.
As someone born and raised in Ventura, I’m deeply proud that Grassroots remains a locally owned, women-led small business with no partners, shareholders, or franchise support. What we’ve built is homegrown, and it exists because of the trust and dedication of this community.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our 5% give-back program. Over the years, this commitment has allowed us to contribute close to half a million dollars not only to local organizations and causes, but also directly to community members and families in need. It’s an honor to share our success right back with the people who support us every single day.
Looking Ahead to 2026 ✨
This spring marks a meaningful milestone for me. I’ll be leading our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training alongside nine other master teachers from Grassroots, a long-term goal of mine. I’m grateful for the opportunity to deepen our educational offerings and support the next generation of teachers.
My wish for our community in 2026 is simple: that we continue supporting one another and embracing who we truly are. Yoga is a lifestyle that can be lived anywhere and in any season of life. It doesn’t require perfection or pretense, it asks only for presence and sincerity.Anything can be yoga.
As we enter the new year, my hope is that your practice continues to ground you, strengthen you, and remind you of your capacity. Thank you for being part of this community and for helping Grassroots become what it is today.
Cheers to another great year 💚
